Yeah, we all say this when looking at our own pics. But when we look at each others we all see changes. I think it has to do with our critical voice getting in the way of objective scrutiny.

Yes. Ride with me on the Tilt-a-Whirl sometime for a demonstration. (Wear a rain slicker for easier cleanup.)

Default The Beck Diet Solution

Hey Ya'll! So good to see all of you here!

Maybe you are right, Karla. Perhaps I should take some pics and see how they look.

I admit it, I still like to twirl. It still feels fun. I like the rides that go around and around. My dh doesn't so my son has SOMEONE to ride everything with!

I am reading The Beck Diet Solution Amazon.com: The Beck Diet Solution: Train Your Brain to Think Like a Thin Person: Judith S. Beck: Books. I have forgotten how my brain worked when I was so "in the zone" 6-7 years ago. This book is bringing it all back for me. Every negative, self-sabatoging thought she describes I have or have had! I am very hopeful. I just got the book Wednesday but already I am more aware.

And Karla, we will be in Portland on our way to Seaside in October!! Just bought the plane tickets today. We are so excited. Are we crazy for going in October??

Hugs to you all, Kelly, Tracey, Julie, Diane and Karla!! Your support means so much!

Hey Karen-

I'm glad your new book is making you feel more hopeful about things.

That's exciting about your trip to Oregon! We went for my brother's wedding in August of 06. I decided to rent a Harley for us, so when we were packing he kept asking me why we have to bring all our leathers since they took up so much room in our bags. We went to Cannon Beach and of course it was cold and people were huddled under blankets on the beach. Shawn kept asking me, are you sure this is the peak season. I said, well its August. He was glad we brought the leathers!

Is your avatar picture in your yard? Its beautiful!

Hi Leah! The tree is in the botanical gardens here in Huntsville. It was rescued from a neighborhood under construction. They were going to cut it down to put in a road! I couldn't believe how beautiful it was. It is a dogwood.

Brrr...cold in August. I have heard it will be cold and rainy in October. I am going to go look up Cannon Beach and see where it is exactly! Whoa Mama! I just noticed/remembered that you are in PA!! Wow! All the way across the country on a Harley!??! Wow! You may be too young to remember the old song from, I think, 1973ish "Motorcyle Mama." I keep hearing "and we'll see the world from my Harley...."

Thanks for checking in!

Unfortunately we didn't get to ride across the country. Hopefully someday.... We just rented a bike when we were out there. It was kind of expensive, but totally worth it!

Hahahaha! I thought that was SOME trip! Whew! I noticed there are places to rent bicycles which we love to ride but probably not in October. We are going for a bike ride tomorrow! Can't wait.

Interesting book you're reading.

Yes, that mindset of a thin person uh-oh. The amount of times I ever thought "Nothing tastes as good as being lean" amounts to perhaps 1-2 times.
I just try to do like Berardi says : when it's in the house , it will get eaten, so don't buy it. Hmmm guess what just found its' way to my mouth last night? An entire bar of dark chocolate w berry filling.

Haha! Sounds delish, Espi. I went from "Nothing tastes as good as thin feels." (used to be my mantra, too.) to "You know, there are alot of things that taste better than thin feels!" It's amazing that I used to do everything the book says. I had the mindset. I could have written the stupid thing.

Karen, don't they say that awareness is a big step toward making changes? Glad that this book is helping you see where you are maybe sabotaging yourself ...
You'll get there!

Thank you, thank you, Julie! I know I eat obliviously sometimes! My assignment for today is to "EAT SITTING DOWN!" I am so bad about getting a handful of this and that. This is going to be huge!

Hahaha! Leah, glad I am not the only one!

Nice workout! Just keep at the eating thing and make improvements bit-by-bit. Eventually, it all adds up to bigger goods!

Thanks Diane. I am really struggling and have learned that external motivator-a cruise, seeing people I haven't seen in a year-really don't work. It has to come from within, for sure!
