So sensitive ...

Nice workout btw ... impressive preacher curls. That's a lot of arm/shoulder work!

Looks like an interesting routine, have always wanted to give a split like this a go for a change of pace.
Will be interesting to see your results

Legs

8 x 135
8 x 185
5 x 205
6 x 185 x 2
5 x 185

Leg Press
10 x 180
10 x 270
8 x 360 x 3

Leg Curl
10 x 50
10 x 70 x 2
8 x 60
8 x 50

Calves - standing raises
30 x 360
28 x 360 x 3
30 x 360
25 x 360

This workout really got me again. I had some lower back pain during squats - what was that about? I still have not braved tying my 225 PR there - just too nervous about getting stuck. Plus, on 205, I didn't think I was going as deeply as I should.

by the end of the workout, I was about ready to puke, so I didn't do the last two sets of calves.

does your squat rack have safety rails. If so set them up at the bottom of the lift. That way if you can't get back up you won't kill yourself, but can still give it a try. That is a lot of leg work, I bet you were ready to puke. Anyone would!

thanks, man. yeah they do have the safety pins/rails. I had to use them once when I got stuck at 225. I think that's why I now have a mental block!

Always a scary feeling.

Still, imagine how that day would have gone if you didn't have the rails.

I watched a guy doing an (unspotted) Incline bench press fail yesterday at the gym, and thankfully/luckily a few people were right there to save him. He was pinned for a good 5-10 seconds. That had to be scary.

I never go heavy without a spot. I don't understand why people take that risk. Health > Ego.

I don't mind going heavy if I have the rails in place. I wouldn't do it on the bench for the very reasons mentioned above.

Okay. Must snap out of the early morning slackness. I traveled for work last week and only got in 3 workouts, I believe. This week, counting Sunday - only two so far. The 4:30 am wake up has failed. I'll get in Friday and Saturday but just HATE missing workouts.

Next week, back to early bed times and early wake ups. This is killing me. I feel all out of sorts...

You're doing fine, Richie. Don't beat yourself up. You've had some stress going on and that takes its toll on you. Rest is good at times like that.

But be there tomorrow though or we'll kick your ass.
