Thanks for the encouragement, mel! I think I feel that way about all leg work - I hate it because I know it's necessary. But I'm juuuuust starting to like it a little more now.

Metabolic Overdrive, morning
24.01 min.
6.54 miles

Meh. Average ride, a little slower than I'd hoped for. It'll pick up.

As Alwyn would say, I trained like a Mogwai today. Definitely a "punch the clock" workout, not a thing of beauty. But it got done.

FL I, Workout B-5

Semi-specific warmup; deadlift warmup. Supersets with full rest @ 45 secs. Mixed-grip pullups subbed for mixed-grip lat pulldowns.

Deadlifts 10@195 lbs; 2x7@195
and
DB Incline Bench Press 10@105 lbs total; 8@105; 6@105

Bulgarian Split Squats 10@50 lbs total; 2x8@50
and
Mixed-Grip Pullups 9, 7, 6

Romanian Deadlifts 10@155 lbs; 7@155; 8@155
and
Swiss Ball Lateral Roll 3x10@bw

----------

Notes:
My grip sucks. Need to improve it for heavier DLs.

I should be doing more lateral rolls, but my God, they are so boring.

I'm bitching a lot, but I'm happy to have gotten the workout in when I felt so flat today. Also pleased to see the poundages steadily creeping upward. It takes my mind off the scale, which keeps reminding me that I've strayed too often from the diet lately. But as long as the workouts go well, that doesn't bother me quite so much.

Great job del, your weights are moving up.

It's good that you did your workout, as you say. Some mornings, it's just a fight. But you won! I hate the feeling if I don't go. I feel guilty all day long. So it's worth it if you can just force yourself over that hurdle, which is the biggest challenge of the whole day!

Thanks, Deb! I always keep an eye on your log for motivation.

You're right - the feeling of having gotten the lifting done first thing is like money in your pocket.

Metabolic Overdrive, morning
24.27 min.
6.55 miles

Legs felt like lead this morning; tired from yesterday's weights workout. We'll see how it goes tomorrow. A one-day break may be in order.

Good job getting in those workouts when you don't feel like it.

Do you go to the gym for your Metabolic Overdrive? It was pretty chilly out this morning. I stayed in my warm bed for as long as possible...

Nah, I jump on our crappy recumbent bike down in the basement. Not too chilly down there (yet). Just me, the iPod nano, and the occasional housecat.

Props to all those who trek out to the gym to get their workouts in! I don't think I could do it.
