NROL Fat Loss II, Workout B-1 (April 18/08)

Superset (with full rest)
Snatch-grip DL

3X12 @ 135

T-Pushup
3X12

Superset (with full rest)
Bulgarian Split Squat*
3X12 @ 15s

Chinup
3X12

Superset (with full rest)
Romanian DL/Bent-over Row
3X12 @ 95

Lower Body Russian Twist
3X12

Comment: OMFG!! This was a beast. It was all I could do to get through this without passing out. And talk about a challenge for all my lower body issues. Yikes. I'm looking on paper and thinking .... that doesn't look so bad. But, man, during the thing, it was NASTY. I did the w/o as set with 2 exceptions. First, I deleted the overhead press add-on to the BSS. I tried a rep or two but could not keep the lower back muscles engaged properly and was feeling some sciatic pain so decided to just go with straight BSS. Used a light weight, focussed on engaging the lower back and it went fine after that. The second (unintentional) change-up was to lengthen the RI towards the end. There is no way 60 seconds was long enough for recovery and passing-out-avoidance. So ... I did it but it was tough. I think I have to say the BSS/chinup superset was the worst superset I've ever performed. Really hard.

T... M... I... You're officially off my prospective summit roomie list

If it's any consolation, hill drills (insert joke here) beat me down Friday, so much so that I've blown off doing a 5K this weekend (depending on how I feel after work this afternoon). I don't want to hear any whining unless you did the 400m lunge workout from hell

I have no inside track, but I'm sure Alwyn must be laughing every time he sees one of these posts. Great job on a new workout routine. They do get a *little* bit easier on the second or third time around.

This has been a great log, it's a shame to see it die, but hopefully the next will be just as good
