I was scheduled to do an NROL workout today but it's the B workout and I'm still hurting a bit from the "snap" in my upper thigh the other day. I think I should rest and make sure I don't do any further damage. Alwyn's workout B would be a little overtaxing at this point, I think. So, I wandered over to the gym and did this over lunch:

Today's lunch time effort:

Yet Another Non-NROL Lunchtime Workout

Stationary Bike 12 minutes - interval program
Stair Master 10 minutes - hill program

PT exercises/stretching/mobility stuff

Pushups 100 (4X25)

Thanks, Jamie. Considering that 25 used to be a struggle for me, it's cool I can do 4 sets of 'em now.

Looks like NROL will have to be put on hold for a couple of weeks. Went to the PT this morning and she wants me to hold off doing lunges until this thigh thing heals up and is pain-free. Suggested I hold off for the balance of this week and next. Without the lunges and BSS, I'm not sure it's worth carrying on with the rest of the program or just taking a bit of rest time until I'm sure I'm good to go. There's lots of other stuff I can do in the interim. I just don't want to have to compromise the program by making a bunch of subs - I'd rather wait and do it properly.

Yes, Ryan, I've had a couple of bouts of sciatica ... seems to be an ongoing issue. Have got it more or less under control atm (through PT and ART) and am working with a PT to get at root causes of the recurrence. Hell to get old ...

Lookin strong on the bench Rob! I have a lot of catching up to do! My laziness since Thanksgiving has cost me a lot of strength and you've left me in the dust. Way to go.

Thanks, Jemmie. I was quite pleased with that myself since my bench generally sucks rocks. Perhaps these pushups are doing some good after all.

So you're PT doesn't want you to do lunges but you're doing the stairmaster for cardio?!?

Sorry to hear about the setback, Rob. Does this mean you get a thigh massage from a cute PT? Take it easy for the week and give those pipe cleaners a run for their money.

Interestingly, the StairMaster doesn't bother either the back or the thigh. The thigh issue has occurred on the tailing leg in the lunge, when it's stretched back. That is not a motion that's repeated in a SM routine. It tends to be sore going down stairs, not up. I kind of do what doesn't hurt ....
