I told my ART guy it hurt when I did SMR on the piriformis. His answer:

"Yeah, it also hurts when you poke yourself in the eye."

My problem is that the sciatic nerve gets caught up in the piriformis and is the main area of irritation causing the sciatic pain. The ART in that area is a painful necessity, I'm afraid, in my case.

NROL Fat Loss I, Workout A-1

Superset (with full rest)
Goblet Squat w/ DB (in lieu of back squat)
3X15 @ 55 DB

Cable Seated Row
3X15 @ 100

Superset (with full rest)
Supine Hip Extension3X15

DB Push Press3X15 @ 35s

Superset (with full rest)
Rotational Lunge
3X15 @ 15s

Swiss Ball Crunch
3X15

Comments: Good workout - the back didn't give me too much problem at all. Was worried about the rotational lunge but went light and it was fine. As in the Break-in, I've subbed the goblet squat for back squat but am slowly increasing the weight. Felt fine. Did lots of mobility work to start and my rehab exercises at the end.

That sucks. Hope none of the rest of us develops a condition that requires regular eye-poking to fix.

Saw the physio this morning (the not hot one) and she was able to lift my leg about 45 or 50 degrees without pain ... last week it was about 30 degrees, so there is improvement. She worked me over pretty good (ouch) to free up the nerve and gave me a couple exercises to accomplish the same thing at home. Also a couple of new variations on the strength exercises. Back in two weeks ... she is pleased with the improvement and the increased strength. She thinks it will be 2 to 3 months before I'm right as rain. I can live with that.

It doesn't look like it is holding you up to much. You have bathing suit weather coming.

Gabe, why would you even bring that up? Not all of us have the "lame excuse" of major medical surguries, bags, etc.

Usually, we would be, but since RedLefty has yet to comment, we're just waiting in anticipation
