Fuck cardio. Fuck it right in the ear.

All cardio does is give you a boost. It's useful if your goal is to be good at cardioshit. Otherwise, if it's too much, ditch it. Do a walk in the evenings. Do a 10 minute burst on your non-lift days in the morning. Don't do it at all. Whatever.

Still has nothing to do with this challenge though.

Learn to ease up where you need to so that you don't dig yourself into a hole you can't get out of. Do what you can handle, when you can handle it.

Chin up missy. Do the best you can and everything will be fine. No one ever got better at something by not doing it.
Agreed. Remember that your real goal is improvement, not perfection. Reading your journal it sounds like you're making improvements, they'll just take time (usually rather a lot longer than we'd like them to, but they will come). Never give up and never surrender! (Dang I love that movie...)

What movie... My favorite movie line in regards to all of this is "failure is not a option."

Galaxy Quest - highly recommended particularly if you're a fan of Star Trek.

It's kind of a homage and a parody of Star Trek simultaneously.

Don't turn into one of those "demotivator" posters Paula! You can do this. Like everyone says...you can BUILD UP to doing the Leigh drills! Just do what you can and make it your goal to eventually get there. You need to start somewhere. Plus, it has nothing to do with the ULTIMATE DIETING CHALLENGE!!!!

Not from a movie but I keep telling myself a quote I read once, "failure is only when you quit trying".

You will get better Paula, slow and easy with improvement each time is the goal and you are already there!

I'm traveling this week. It's really hard to not only stay on plan while on the road, but it's really hard to make my macros while eating catered food during meetings, airplane food and hotel room service! The next few days I'll mostly be doing bodyweight circuits and various cardio/mobility workouts. I flew this morning so I decided to do a bit of rope jumping tonight. I also threw in some mobility work. So...

Easier Cardio Day
Calories = 11xTBW (1320)
Protein = 1.2gxTBW
Fat = whatever is left over
Carbs = 10-15% of total

My Totals for the Day
Calories = 1350
Protein = 133g
Fat = 61g (41%)
Carbs = 13%

I'm counting this as compliant. I think I'm going to shoot for the calorie count first over the next few days and try to get as close as possible to the macros. Hope this is okay with the judges!

It totally (at this point) whups my ass and scares the bejesus out of me because I suck at it. I have some stuff to really sort out in my head about this whole exercise. I think it'll probably become a rant in one of my blogs.
Do not give up now, Paula! You can do this! It's a progression...that's all you have to worry about. Just do a little more than you did the last time and you've won! Did 2 circuits last time? Do 3 the next time, or 2.5 if that's all you can manage. But, the fact is, by doing even 2.5, you've done .5 more than last time. And, that means you are making improvements. Keep pushing, Paula!!!

I LOVE your subtlety, Aoife!

Couldn't have said it better myself. Sometimes, nothing but a good ole F bomb will do.

Today: enjoying the hell out of my meat and fat, thank you very much! STill need to get in another 200 cals with a minimum of 10 g of fat, and 8 g of protein. SF jello with whipping cream, here I come.

I did a hard GPP today so I classify this as a hard cardio day. I'm traveling so my food is not as compliant as I would like it to be. Close though. You guys be the judge.

Hard Cardio Day
Calories = 12xTBW (1440)
Protein = 1gxTBW
Fat = 30-35% of total
Carbs = whatever is left over

My totals for the day
Calories = 1509
Protein = 117g
Fat = 41%
Carbs = 96g

Not great, but still compliant (I think!)
