ABBH 1

Week - 1 Workout A

Note - I work out in KGs but convert to lbs for posting

Mobility Work
7 X Excercise From MM
7X Excercise from IO
Foam Roller

Workout
These are done as supersets with full rest
Excercise A1 (60 sec rest)
Barbell Bench
10X3X 100lbs
Excercise A2(90 sec rest)
Barbell Row 10X3X111lbs

Notes
This is a good workout, quick and straight forward. Dropped the weight on the bench (from BBB) slightly. There are 10 sets instead of 8 and I was worried about failure/not having a spotter. In teh end I shouldn't have been so cautious, as they are supersets you get enough rest to recover. Next week I'll up the weight again.

ABBH 1

Week - 1 Workout B

Note - I work out in KGs but convert to lbs for posting

Mobility Work
7 X Excercise From MM
7X Excercise from IO
Foam Roller

Workout
These are done as Tri-sets with full rest
Excercise A1 (60 sec rest)
Front Squat 5X10X56lbs

Excercise A2(60 sec rest)
Reverse crunch 5X10XBW
Excercise A3 (60 sec rest)
Calf Riase 5X10XBW *3 per set (each leg) done single leg

Notes
Another fairly quick workout 40 mins. Front squats done with lighter weight than I would have liked but its been a while since I have done them. I always find the set up difficult, my wrists are nowhere near flexible/strong enough to do the bent back grip so I do the crossed arm approach. Invariably this leads to sore upper arms and slight red marks

Decided for some reason that I wanted to improve my single leg calf raise, so rather than add weight I will be looking to add reps of singles - finishing the set with the standard double. Once I can do 10+ each leg for sets i'll be happy.

I hear you on the front squats -- I struggle with the grip as well.

I'll have to check but I don't think I did ABBH1 as a super set the last time I went through it. I've done ABBH1 and 2 a couple of times and have really liked it.

Gabe, looking at the pg195 of MR it lists the exercises as A1,A2,A3 for ABBH as opposed to just listing them without the annotation in BBB.

Just looked at the Program on t-nation. Chad says the following "Rest: 60 seconds between supersets (i.e. train chest, rest 60 secs, train back, rest 60 secs, train chest, rest 60 seconds, etc)".

Glad you enjoyed it though

I'm not sure how much it really matters how if you superset or not. It does mean you get done faster. I'm sorry you're not feeling well.

Hey, you got in there and did it, so that's getting some of the cobwebs off. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Still feel awful, went for a swim today just to keep active. I've put on about 5-6 lbs recently after being all but 2lbs away from my goal.

I doubt i'll hit the xmas eve goal now but atleast I know I can get down there again.

Don't sweat it. If that's the worst thing that happens to you life isn't so bad.

Hang in there buddy. I hear you on the weight gain -- holiday season seems bad for that. But, you're right on, now you know you can get to where you want to be. You'll do it!

Merry Christmas!

Cheers for the well wishes guys, I hope your holiday period was a good one.

I unfortunately was stuck down with gastric flu, and I am still on the tail end of it now. At first I thought it was cold but it progressively got worse. Luckily booked a few days off work anyway so I didn't have to pull a sickie.

Anyway this morning I decided I’d seen enough of the toilet seat to last me a lifetime, so i hit the gym to do workout D of ABBH.
ABBH 1

Workout D

Note - I work out in KGs but convert to lbs for posting

Mobility Work
7 X Exercise From MM
7X Exercise from IO
Foam Roller

Workout
These are done as trisets with full rest
Exercise A1 (60 sec rest)
Deadlift 5X3X111lbs
Exercise A2(60 sec rest)
Reverse Crunch 5X3Xbodyweight
Exercise A3(60 sec rest)
Calf extension machine 5X3X121lbs

Notes

I didn't push this one, just wanted to get back into the gym. I only managed 5 rounds (normally it's ten). Felt good to be back but I'm still tender. Hopefully I’ll be back on form in a few days/a week
