Bill You know I was listening to a presentation last night about teaching Kids hymns, and one of the fellas said that he just hates it when they skip a verse in a hymn because sometimes the verse that is skipped is the foundation for the next verse. I thought that was a really interesting insight.

UGH. I've got a head cold. It was only a matter of time with all the snot I've been wiping off faces the past few weeks, and since Hayley sneezed right in my face over the weekend ... sigh ... and I wash my hands so much they are perpetually chapped ... sigh ... off to take a hot steamy shower to try to loosen some of this gunk.

That's very true. A lot of modern hymnals will even eliminate some verses. But many of those texts were written as complete units and then later divided up into verses, so as you said, some ideas will flow from one verse into the other.
Hey, Julie, hope you're feeling better soon!
I enjoyed your posture article on He'sFit. Steve sent me a link to his latest piece, then I was poking around the site and said, "Hey! Julie's here, too!" (So I didn't get a lot of work done this morning... ). I suppose if I'd been paying attention I would have seen your post from Monday. I have to confess I read that line about "due any day" and stopped reading.

It's the season for colds.. just like in spring. Somehow it must have to do with being more susceptible when we change back too late from thinner summer to thicker winter clothes. And then in spring when we change back too early.. or is this nonsensical?

Very cute video - from such beginnings are new ballerinas born.
As much as I'm into culture I only saw my first ballet a couple years ago (Swan Lake - Pennsylvania Ballet). My most memorable moment at the ballet though was when I saw the Nutcracker (NYC Ballet) and at the end of the first act (the winter wonderland scene), they let loose the "snow" machines and I have to say the effect was amazing. A tiny voice behind me exclaimed "Look! It's snowing on the stage!" and I thought yeah, THAT's the kind of appreciation the Nutcracker should have, and I wished I had it too.
