it's your fault, I get that thing stuck in my head every time I see your log title.

It is fucking pouring rain again. I am going to SCREAM!!!
ETA: We have had 8+ inches of rain here this SUMMER. That is spring rainfall amounts, not dead of summer amounts. Freakin' ridiculous!!

Sorry that my log title reminds you of bad Paula Abdul music ...
Lisa, love the kitteh ... the lake is now over a foot higher than it's "normal" level ... which is several inches higher than it normally is by this time of year. C R A Z Y!!!
Anyhoo ... the sun is shining a bit this morning (lots of clouds, but occasional bouts of sun) so I got in a bike ride.
HRM said ~400 calories for the 50 minutes.
Bugg said ~250 calories for the same time.
So, somewhere in there ... and my HRM has my info all plugged in ... or it did before I sent it back to get a new battery. I'll have to see if it is still all in there ...
Anyways ... company coming in a little while. Matt just got back with the girls ... they rode the boat to the dam while I rode my bike. I won as usual.
And since y'all are in an 80s music video thang lately ... this is one of my favorite 80s tunes ...

Hmmmm ... where's my post from yesterday with the video of the waterfall that my yard has become? Hmmm ...
Well, anyways ... I'll post it again later.
Got in a one hour walk today followed by some foam rolling and stretching. Tweaked my left hip flexor/TFL a bit ... need to stretch/roll some more I think.
Lots of sun today ... FINALLY!!! Spent the day swimming, boating, etc. Awesome.

Yup. But it is what it is. Keeps me from going too bonky on the scale, knowing that it fluctuates so much ...
Anyhoo ... my refeed was a success. Leigh said I might not see lower weights for a week or two, but I hit my lowest in a very long time (163.2) this morning. Gunning for the 150s now!!
That Leigh is an omniscient witch, isn't she? I mean that in a good way, of course.
She's got me on low cals for another week then a refeed; I was at 61.9 kg this morning which is the lowest I've been in, oh.... at least 1 year or maybe even 2! Crazy. You and I seem to have similar issues on the overtraining and being fluid sponges. I haaaaaaaaaate it.
Hope you have some dry weather for a while, m'dear. Geez.
Thanks Jane ... I've pretty much made up my mind that if it is forecast to rain our last few days here, then I will be going home early ... Michaela's birthday is Friday and my parents are staying through Saturday, but if it is forcast to rain Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday then I will come home on Sunday. It hasn't been raining like this in Southern New England.
Fog is so thick this morning that I can't see the other side of the lake. I can't see the middle of the lake. I can barely see past our dock.
Oh, and rain is forcast for later this afternoon. Surprise surprise!!
Tina, yea ... at least no overtraining for me right now. Leigh has me on no real structured program. I walk, I bike, I foam roll, I stretch, and if I feel like it I do something really low key restistance training. But mostly just with my NEAT and no exercise I am still burning 2000-2300 per day depending upon my activity. If it is raining and I spend the day watching movies and on the 'puter it might be as low as 1700. There's only so much moving you can do in 500 square feet with 2 kids, a dog, and a cat!!! The fluid stuff just sucks ... but it is what it is, and I know about it so it doesn't freak me out. I do get frustrated a bit sometimes. but since the overall trend is downward, I'm cool with it.
Here are some shots from this Friday's check-in ... I'm very pleased with my progress thus far. Not sure when the middle picture was taken ... I'm guessing half-way.
(And don't give me crap about the tan Tina! I have been wearing my number 50 SPF and sitting in the shade plus it's been raining a lot ... I TOLD you I get tan no matter what!!!)
And here's some video for your viewing pleasure ...
Hayley (age 3 1/2) just learned to jump off the dock by herself (wearing a life jacket). Her sister still will not jump off to someone (catching her). Different strokes I guess ...
And so you can see what I mean about the rain ... this was while it was thunderstorming on Thursday late afternoon ... CRAZY!!
Oh ... and now I can see across the lake ... perhaps the sun will come out sometime soon!!!

Catching up here.... your pictures look great. As for the two videos, the second one reminds me of the rain we had yesterday and the rain we have forecast for today (although at the moment the sun in shining). I hope you get better weather for your last few days.
Julie - that is impressive. Sorry about the rain. We got our August rainstorm yesterday, probably will kill my tomato plants (we have a black wilt that rain bounces up from the soil)
Hi Julie, your progress is very dramatic, especially the smile in your most recent pic Very nice.
Question for you about water retention: even with drinking 4L-5L of water, moderate carbs, moderate sodium and decent potassium, I still retain water like crazy. Other than trying carb cycling, I don't know what else to do.
Have you come to the conclusion that some people are just screwed in that dept, due to hormones? Or do you expect your water level to balance out in time with more rest and recovery?
By the way, love that good posture in your pics too
Wow that rain is pretty crazy...but the jump from the dock makes up for it in extreme levels of cuteness!! Your progress pics look great! I always notice the smile too...people usually start out scowling and end up with this huge grin on their face...and well, you should one since you are making such awesome progress!!

Yea ... the rain has been crazy ... had to video it and post since you all probably just think I'm whining about it!!

Well, I have to have good posture ... I'm a physical therapist and part of my job is to teach others about posture!! But thanks ...
Regarding the fluid retention ... IDK ... I know in my case it is very likely the hormone imbalance that I have been dealing with for the past 3+ years. It has gotten better, but is still not great. Sometimes it is worse and others it is pretty good. It's a progesterone/estrogen thing. I posted about it a page or so back I think.
And Kristen, I set the timer to take my pictures and I'm usually squinting to see when it's going to go off ... it just then takes pictures continually for 8 photos. So sometimes I'm smiling, but most of the time on the first photo (facing forward) I'm not. But I smile nearly all the time at home!!
