I'm telling you. I need to start better arranging my life. I need to be able to go somewhere for the summer.

Just win the lottery. DUH.
Us too. We're slowly working on the ability to just be able to take sabbaticals when we want to.

ooooh Not only do you have a great life, but you KNOW you have a great life, which makes it all the sweeter. Here's to having a summer with the kids; irreplacable. I'm so glad things are good for you!

We're in Canaan (which is ugly trailer-ville) ... Goose Pond sits on the Hanover/Canaan/Enfield border. It's about an hour west and a little north of Winnepesaukee.
It is beautiful and I love it ... here's my view from my dock ...

We had a bat in our old house every fall. The first time one got in, DH and I were watching a movie around 11 p.m. and this thing started flying around. I looked at him and said, "Oh, look.....A bird got in!" We he told me it wasn't a bird and it was a bat, I totally freaked and promptly locked myself in the bathroom wrapped from head to toe in a blanket........lol
I'm like you.......I totally get freaked by them. I even took 2 bat courses to learn about them and to get over my fears. Unfortunately, I only got worse when they had us sit on a hillside 50 feet away from an old church that has be preserved for a bat colony........Well, when you have thousands of bats coming out of the windows at dusk and you are sitting eye-level with the window.........it didn't do a thing to get me over my fears!

Julie..........This is beautiful! My DH and I are planning to build a cabin on a piece of land that he had inherited from his uncle. When we do.......I'll be spending my summers there and being as relaxed as you are.
Oh, BTW.........Great job at hitting your lowest weight in a year and a half! That's awesome!!!

Hey guys ... thanks for stopping by.
Not much to report ... but I did get myself a BodyBugg!! According to the shipping info, it should be here next Friday! Whoooop!!
In the meantime, I plan to get in a bike ride today along with some yoga and I definitely have a date with my foam roller and lacrosse ball. Looks like it plans to be a nice day too, so hopefully some water fun as well.
Jamie, hi right back!!
Stephanie, OMFG. That is totally creepy. They've been gone since the mass exodus last week. We had one in one night. I got into bed and I could hear this sqeaking. So I turned the light back on and looked around for it. Found it on the floor (!) so DH scooped it up and brought it outside. It might have been a baby .... makes me kind of sad. I don't want to kill them, I just want them to roost elsewhere!! But no incidents any other time. Whew!! And camp life is great. I have moments where I am very lonely since DH is at work and sometimes watching the girls all by myself in a sort of dangerous place can get tiring, but for the most part it is awesome.
Tina, get yourself to a conference at Dartmouth and you are welcome to come visit!!
So, my daughter rode her bike over the embankment down to the lake yesterday!! They are used to riding in our driveway and not on the road ... so I was telling them that if a car comes to just stay over to the side and stop until the car goes by. So I'm walking along next to Hayley, a big propane delivery truck is coming down the road so I say, "CAR!" Hayley starts to tip over (toward the steep embankment) so I grab her handlbars to right her and look up to see Michaela steering down the embankment. I go running over (she was maybe 15 feet in front of us) but too late ... down she went ... over the handlebars, landing in a pile of rocks on the edge of the lake!!!!!
I freaked. I go sliding down the hill in my flip flops and grab her up (she had stood up by that point) and scramble back up the hill. The truck had stopped and the two guys inside came out to see how she was (and helped me up the steep hill). She's fine. Just a big bump on her cheek and a scratch on her forehead and leg. But O M G. Scared the behoozies out of me. I couldn't stop thinking of all that could have gone wrong ... and kept hugging her all afternoon. (Finally, she was like, "Mommy, stop!!" ) Sigh. So now we will ride on the other side of the street, even if it is the "wrong" side of traffic!!!
Off to get our day started ...

OMG! How scary!!! I'm so glad that she is okay. No wonder you mentioned keeping the after the girls in such a dangerous place. You should be burning major calories keeping up after them.........lol
I think your decision to ride on the other side will not only provide safety but sanity, as well.

Oh Julie!! I am so sorry about the embankment! When we spent the week at the lake last month, I spent probably 80% of my time while they were "fishing" (i.e. throwing a line in with a weight so it would sink) imagining that they were going to fling themselves into the lake. I finally just made them wear their life jackets...I just couldn't stand the worrying any more.
Glad baby girl is ok!
DOUBLE COOL on the BodyBugg!!!!!
Lata tata!
