What a sweet face on your boy!
I had a chronic runaway dog when I was a kid - she'd be gone for up to 2 weeks at a time and I'd be hysterical the whole time... I think that's why I've never been comfortable letting my pups off-leash. We have a nice fenced yard to run in, and if we leave the yard, we use a leash...
Funny childhood memory though: electric fence in the back yard (which just did not keep my runaway girl in!). When it wasn't working right, my dad would make my mom touch it to check if the current was running. I remember him repeatedly shocking her just to check the fence (or so he said ). Of course she was dumb enough to keep touching it!

We had a cow that would test the fence with his nose hairs to see if he could get out!

Today's workout brought to you by TRX!
It was nice to be outside listening to the birds and squirrels ... cool fresh air ... it's all good!!
Kept it all fairly low intensity per Leigh's orders ...
Foam Rolling/Trigger Point stuff: for about 30 minutes: back, glutes, hams, calves, quads, hip flexors/TFL
TRX:
*Straight sets with 60 sec rest between sets/exs
*3x8 for each exercise
Squats
Rows
Balance Lunge
Incline Pushup
Y Shoulder Raise
Side Lunge
Suspended Bicycle Crunch: 3x25
About 37 minutes, burning 175 calories according to HRM
Yoga:
25 minutes with focus on hip opening
about 60 cals burned according to HRM
Off to the podiatrist this am ... sick of my ugly calluses and cracked heels! Then it's into the garden to finish what I didn't yesterday (due to the dog and subsequent rain storm).

My friends and I used to test fences with our tongues.
Hi, Julie! I'm out to tackle garden chores this afternoon myself.

Whew! Busy few days ... Friday was busy, but no workout or anything. My parents were supposed to take the girls overnight, but my dad had a bug last week and so they opted out. Quiet evening at home ... Saturday I worked, and Saturday night I went out on the town!!
My class had our 20th reunion two years ago, and we all had such fun that we didn't want to wait 5 years, so we decided to have a class 40th birthday party. Our group was small - only about 10% of our graduating class - but really fun. I went without Matt. Wore a super cute dress, very Marilyn-esque ... and great red shoes (and got lots of compliments)! I'll post a pic when I upload. The best part ... I STUCK TO MY DIET PLAN 100%!!!!! I think I even came in a little under the calories I had planned/alotted. Go me. Social events have been really hard for me thus far this summer season, so I am particularly proud of this one. And on Saturday morning, the scale was the lowest it has been in a long time! Yay. No formal workouts since Thursday, but danced a lot last night ... and standing in heels for hours and hours is a workokut in and of itself!!

Coolsies. Yay for you. Social eating is always a pain... I'm drawn to fries like... whatever, I have no metaphorethingie for that.

Julie............Eating on plan at your "40th Class Birthday Bash" is AWESOME!!! That is so hard to do and you did great! I agree that wearing heels that long, standing in them and dancing was a really good workout! Even the next day, my feet tell me so.
I'm glad you saw a move in the scale.......KUTGW!

Nice work there Julie - as others have stated, eating on plan at social gatherings (let alone milestone ones as yours was) is difficult at best. Keep on keeping your eyes on the prize.

OK, don't faint everyone ... I worked out this morning!!
I have not been sleeping ... Hayley doesn't do well with change, so a weekend away is killer. She doesn't sleep the first few nights away, and just as we get settled into that, we come home where it again takes a night or two to get settled. This time when we came home, we had horrible thunderstorms several nights in a row and she was up so many times I finally caved and let her into our bed just to grab an hour or two. So last night was the best in over a week, but she was up once ... sigh. It is exhausting. So anyway, my point with this is that when I am tired from lack of sleep, I have learned that exercising, although makes me feel good in the short run, is not good in the long run. But I was feeling better this morning than in a long time, so here I am.
Foam rolling/lacrosse ball rolling: Quads, hip flexors/TFL, glutes, calves
Static stretching: hip flexor/TFL, hams, calves, quads
Elliptical x 45 minutes: average HR = 124, calories burned = 339
Easy Yoga x 30 minutes
Food is planned ...
Heading out in a few minutes to work in the garden ... the weeds are slowly taking over!!

****psst! If it's darkening of your face, it's called melasma, and it's from estrogen. AKA: the mask of pregnancy. Unless it's body wide, and if so, I sincerely hope you've been worked up for Addison's disease....

Tina, yup ... worked up for Addison's ... although my cortisol counts were at the very bottom of the very wide range of normal, the endocrinologist decided I was "normal". The doc I see for the AF said she had never seen such low cortisol numbers ... and now a year and half after treatment I am feeling so much better. Still olive-y skin, but most other symptoms are gone or nearly gone.
It's humid ... and raining off and on ... and I want to nap.
