Leigh, you are such a good person. I love how you are ALWAYS humble and willing to learn from the feedback and critiques that are put out there. You are never smug or guru-esque.

Okay, that's enough touchy feely bullshit from me.
I second that emotion.

Jules, FANTASTIC progress! You look mahvelous!

Thanks everyone for the compliments ... it is nice knowing that everyone else can see the changes that Leigh points out to me! My neighbor even noticed the other day!!

Jill, you know, that's the biggest thing Leigh has done for me I think. Taught me that crazy exercise and fat loss do not necessarily go hand in hand. That for ME diet is much more important and I will tax my system less with a walk or some gardening or yoga. All those super-intense workouts I was doing were just draining my system and I couldn't recover in a deficit, and I would get sick. I nearly always get bronchitis in May ... yet not this year because I was not killing myself with exercise. Feels good to come to that realization AND to have the scale heading in the right direction for once!!

Thanks Jen! I can't say enough good things about Leigh ...

Tracey, that's too cute about the love note!! My husband is the youngest of 4 boys, so he has really got it in his head that the teenage years are going to be difficult. He jokes that when the first boy shows up he's going to be sitting on the sofa in his boxers and a wife-beater, cleaning a rifle!!!

Slept like crap AGAIN last night. That's three nights in a row. Thank God that Aunt Flo is due to arrive today or tomorrow as that usually puts an end to the poor sleep. It's amazing to me that a year ago I was sleeping this poorly all the time!! At least now it's just the last few days of my cycle. Sigh.

Hoping to get some cardio in this afternoon. I did lots of foam rolling and stretching yesterday. And I think I might break out the TRX this weekend for a good resistance workout!!

First, holy crap. Eight weeks? You look amazing. I am so glad that Leigh has been able to figure out how your body ticks.

What's the TRX?

Finally, I just wanted to say how much I appreciate all your advice and tips. I love my homemade salad dressings, I did a yogadownload.com practice this morning, and am totally working on getting my husband to do some glute exercises and embrace the foam roller. You're awesome. Thanks for everything!

So ... this is turning into a really SHITTY day. My car was hit in the parking lot of my doctor's office when I was backing out of the parking spot. Fucking idiot bitch. Sigh. No one was hurt ... just irritates the crap out of me!

I got a business card from one of the fitness places a while back and their boot camp uses the TRX. I told the gal that for the cost of the class I could get my own TRX and do the same thing he he

You show absolutely fabulous progress Julie.

I'm taking a (small) leaf out of your book and cut out 1 workout : instead of 7 per 14d (EOD) to 3 per week. This not just gives 1 work out less = more recovery but also more opportunity to lose wt as I habitually eat TONS more on workout days.. not just by choice but also because I have to if I want to recover from training rather intensely. And I'm not even doing NROL(4W).
I might even take up yoga.. been telling myself to do this for ages

Thanks Espi. You know I think it really also has to do with the amount of outside stress in your life too because that will also hamper your ability to recover. I have lots of outside stress. Stress over which I have no real control (other than my reaction to it). That combined with the stress of dieting and the stress of intense exercise was/is just too much for my system. And, as Leigh has repeatedly told me ... I have plenty of muscle. More muscle than I likely need. And my metabolism is actually fairly fast (according to the bodybugg). So I need to do less, diet more, and get in my recovery. Leigh's hierarchy is this ...
1. Sleep
2. Diet
3. NEAT
4. Training
Lots different from what I was doing before.

Spoke to the claims adjuster ... FUCK FUCK FUCK. Parking lots constitute private property. And therefore "blame" is split 50/50. So some dipshit plows into my car in a parking lot and I will still get fucked with increased rates. I AM PISSED beyond belief. (Can you tell from the colorful language?!) She did say that given my story, the photos I took, and the diagram I drew and sent to her, that she would talk to her supervisor and recommend that they pay no more than 30%. It just sucks that in 24 years of driving I have been in three accidents. Two in the last 6 months. Of course they won't take the other 23.5 years into account when raising my rates AGAIN in the fall. FUCK. At least my Expedition had barely a scratch on it. That's why I drive it ... it keeps my girls safe no matter what. I'll be a dirty hippy the next time around!

Where this fell apart is the editor who "helped" Leigh didn't do his/her job after being paid for it. Leigh knows that and has learned from the experience. At least Leigh is receptive to learning because there's a lot of folks that aren't.

From an editorial standpoint the info is there, it just needs to be properly shaped and the writing cleaned up. And knowing Leigh, I have no doubt that it will be.
Paula thank you for this information. Apparently I was the only one who did not know this. Leigh, I am so sorry to hear about this. That person really screwed you in more ways than one. I am glad to hear that you have fixed it though.

Julie: WTF??? 50% in a parking lot because it is private property??!! That is about the stupidest thing I have heard in a long, long while.

Well, DAMN! I hit someone in a parking lot a few years back and my insurance had to pay 100%!

I sure do empathize with you, Julie. My brand spanking new Black on Black Maxima was hit 3 times in the first 6 months I had it. It was like I had a bullseye on my baby.

Glad nobody was hurt, though.

Yeah, me too. We have four vehicles right now...none of them fuel efficient (hey, I live in Detroit). For now, Tina will have to represent the Dirty Hippie faction of our crew.

Julie. I admit I stopped by because I heard a rumor that you were cussing like a sailor but wow! You're progress is amazing. You should be really proud.
