No worries about that little OOOPS, Julie - sometimes you just gotta eat a little bit more!! Your body was telling you to eat, and you made good choices!!

I'm jealous of your hike - that looks spectacular!!!!

Now, with no cheese and very little yolk, they just make me gag. I think I'll just get away from them for a while. Hard boiled (even just the whites) doesn't do it, just scrambled. I'll also try making a fritata as that doesnt' seem as bad either.
I'm actually eating them on an almost daily basis now - but there for a while I was sick of them too and totally avoided them. I seem to go through phases......right now egg whites and oatmeal is my fav breakfast!

Re: eggs.

I go through spurts... right now I'm ambivalent. The problem is that I got used to eating w cheese and avocado and they don't taste nearly as good without the extra fat!

When I get in an egg rut, I make deviled eggs. I can't get enough of those.

I've never been an egg fan. I grew up raising chickens and if I never see another egg sandwich, it'll be too soon. I do get spurts where I'll have omelettes once in a while but, usually, I just stick to drizzling eggs in my soups, ala egg drop soup (but with more goodies).

I HATE eggs and haven't eaten even one of them this whole challenge. Well, maybe if they are hidden in a cookie or something I could eat them. You don't have to eat eggs to get the protein in though it is easier if you do. My trainer tried to convince me for several weeks to eat eggs. They make me gag.

Hey Julie, I'm with you on the egg whites. I love eggs, but mostly because I love egg YOLKS. My favorite thing is poached eggs and an english muffin. Otherwise, you can take 'em. My suggestion for a delicious breakfast is Oatmeal w/protein powder, blueberries and a teaspoon of peanut butter...delicous. Oh, are you eating oatmeal these days? If not, maybe some sort of rice cereal in the morning w/protein powder, fruit and nut butter?

Ooh, eggs benedict! I do love eggs benedict. I'd forgotten all about them until now.

Okay, I see people talking about mixing protein powder in their oatmeal so I tried it once. It turned out all gloopy and nasty. What's the secret? I do loves me some oatmeal and that would make it a better choice for me.

Hmmm...mine doesn't get gloopy. You have to cook the oatmeal and then add enough extra hot water to be able to mix in the protein powder. It does make the oatmeal sticky, but it's delicious with the blueberries and peanut butter...or bananas and almond butter.

I'm not big on the eggs benedict actually. Just plain poached eggs broken on an english muffin so the yolk runs all over. Yummmm.

Add the protein powder RIGHT BEFORE you eat it, too....don't try to heat up and/or cook the oatmeal with it in there!

I make the oatmeal pretty thick, then stir in my powder, adding just enough water to make it the thickness I like. No glop here, either.

I like the Eggs and Soldiers thing. Toast cut into sticks, then dipped in the soft boiled eggs, still in the shell with caps cut off.

Thanks, gang! I'll give the non-gloopy oatmeal another try.

Yea ... proatmeal with anything other than whey is pretty yucky ... I am allergic to whey, therefore

I think I just need to take a break from them for a while ... and Karla, I know I don't NEED eggs to get my protein in, but I have always LOVED them so this new gaggy thing is ... well, new, and I was looking for ways to overcome it. I'll just take a break and it will be fine.

Thanks everyone for your tips.

Hike yesterday was BEAUTIFUL!! I took loads of pictures (none as beautiful I'm sure as Paula's) and will post later. It ended up being my cardio as it was more intense and longer than Leigh wants me doing so I didn't think it would be wise to add more cardio on top of it. Weights later today after work.

Hasta la vista!
