Bump!
How are the Keen's today?
Want you to know you are not alone...Jack's definitely got a little virus , too--AGAIN. No fever, luckily, but the quantity of snot seems to be making up for it. Ha!
Take care my friend and do your best today...whatever that is!

Arrgggh ... thanks guys. I think I'm feeling a little bit better. I finally caved in and took some ibuprofen so my head doesn't hurt quite as badly. I'm still a little dizzy and the amount of snot is just gross. I have to carry tissues or it is dripping everywhere!!
Took Michaela to the pedi this morning ... he thinks she "smells" like she has strep, but the rapid test was negative (95% accurate). They will run the overnight culture, but it is likely a virus. Her temp is down to 102 from 103 yesterday. Tylenol drops it even more. She's pretty good considering she must feel at least as poorly as I do!!
Both my clients this evening cancelled, thank God. Going to go eat my soup (a hodgepodge of chicken stock, onion, garlic, mushrooms, spinach, leftover salmon, leftover brown rice risotto, curry, and scallions) and sit on the sofa. Blah.

Yes, Rob, the hodgepodge soups are great. I just throw in whatever sounds good at the moment. I made a big pot of stock last night. I roasted a chicken for dinner last night, then threw the carcass in my crockpot overnight with some veggies and onions and bay leaves and stuff. Yummy stock this am. Soup was wild rice, chicken breast, homemade stock, carrots, broccoli, and garlic with a dash of balsamic vinegar. Yum.
So, Michaela is a bit better today, but Hayley ran a 102 degree fever most of the day. Sigh. Will it ever end?
My client cancelled this evening as I was on my way out the door. Both of her parents have dementia and are in their 90s. They are in separate nursing homes and her father is really declining and she is beside herself since he is being so difficult. I can totally sympathize having been on the caregiver end of that. She probably could have used my session but felt she was too stressed. No biggie since I still feel like crap.
I was also supposed to go to this fancy dinner for work, but called my boss earlier today and cancelled since I feel so poorly. Sigh.
Whine whine whine. Someone slap me.

Head cheese (AmE) or brawn (BrE) is in fact not a cheese, but rather a terrine of meat from the head of a calf or pig (sometimes a sheep or cow). It may also include meat from the feet and heart. It is usually eaten cold or at room temperature as a luncheon meat. It is sometimes also known as souse meat, particularly if pickled with vinegar.
