All that obstacle course and parallel bar stuff sounds like what I was doing in PT.

It looks to me like you have a good plan and are very aware of the things you need to do. Even if it is your field, not everyone is so self aware.

Wow, you are a determined thing, aren't you? Very cool for you not giving up through all of the crap and having the independence to tweak the workouts to work for you!

Those workouts by Alwyn are pretty draining actually , even when eating at maintenance. Not everyone can do this stuff on a big deficit, especially not when having adrenal problems.
I ran into problems with NROL re the required timing of waiting in between sets. It drove me ballistic to have to watch so many things at once. Things went much better once I stopped that.
If a program runs you into the ground, rather than makes you feel better on it, it's not suited for you. Even if it's been well designed. Period.

I'm proud of you for not getting discouraged by the hands you are dealt and finding a way to make it work. So many people would have used any one of these issues as a reason to give up completely. I think it is awesome that you've found a way to adapt instead. You are inspirational!

Thanks everyone The way I see it, it's just life. Mine is no worse than anyone else's. It just is what it is and I have to deal with it as best I can!!

Look, a workout!

NROL4W Stage 2 Workout A (Modified)

A: Front Squat/Push Press: 45# 2x8

B1: Lateral Crossover Step Up 14": BW 2x8e
B2: DB 1-Point Row: 15# DBs 2x8

C1: Split Squat RFE 4": 10# DBs 2x8e
C2: Push Up (Flat): 2x5

D1: Plank: 60 sec., 30/15/15 sec
D2: Corkscrew: 10# plate 2x10

Been cleaning my entire house today ... UGH it's really dirty since I usually do it on weekends (but now I'm working) ... so some activity points there. Also planning to "makeup" yesterday's missed yoga session (sick kid) when I'm done as my "treat" for cleaning!

PMSing kind of bad ... it'll pass ...

Man, I had a whole funny response to you and the computer f-ed it up. Anyway, here's the short version:

Yesterday I joked that I was so bitchy that I burned as many calories as if I'd lifted!! And today...well, I'll just spare us both the list of foods I'd LIKE to eat and just keep eating my apple and tuna fish.

Hang in there, sistah! And watch out for stage2-b...it's a bitch!!!

Ha Ha!! I wasn't too bitchy ... just sore boobs and other stuff ...

Ended up not doing yoga yesterday as I ran out of time, but I did get in a good mobility and softball-rolling session in front of the TV last night (hurts soooooo good!).

Kept Michaela home again today although I probably could have sent her. But it's just pre-school ... I'd rather get her fully healthy than send her and have her sick for several more days.

Laundry laundry and more laundry is on today's agenda, along with bill-paying and sorting our papers as we see our accountant on Saturday. Ack! Also some yoga.

UGH ... Matt snored all night long (even when on his side) so loudly that he woke me out of a deep sleep. I hate that. Then Michaela was up at 5:30 coughing. So much for my plans for a great night's sleep!!! Sigh.

Off to the nature center this morning for our class ... home for my workout, then off to my new doc this afternoon.

I'll post about the workout later ...

The girls and I went for a nice walk yesterday ... it was nice and sunny and warm here (about 50 degrees!). The neighborhood loop is about a mile, and last year it would take an hour, but yesterday we did it in 30 minutes! They ran most of it and I walked to keep up. I didn't have to carry anyone and we didn't stop to rest. Not a great workout for me, but more than sitting at the 'puter!

After my doctor's appointment, I got my workout in ...

40 minutes total ...

15 minutes - KB Complex - 8kg KB
5 each x 5 sets
1 minute rest between sets
Swings
Cleans
Presses
Snatches

(max HR during = 162, 90% of age predicted max)

Lunar Flow Yoga after - 25 minutes

Felt good ...

Here's this morning's ... NROL4W Stage 2 WO B (Modified)

10 minutes dynamic warm-up (including mobility and activation stuff)
*75 second rest except where noted

A1: Bulgarian Split Squat 2x8 each 10# DBs
A2: UG Lat Pulldown 2x8 50#

B1: Reverse Box Lunge w/Fwd Reach 6" 2x8 each 10# DBs
B2: DB Prone Cuban Snatch 2x8 5# DBs

C1: Swiss Ball Crunch 2x10
C2: Reverse Crunch 2x10
C3: Side Plank Crunch 2x10
*no rest between exercises, but 75 seconds at end of tri-set

D: Prone Cobra 2x90 seconds

It took 35 mintues and my max HR was only 142. A good workout, but not terribly challenging. I'm sure if I'd kept the Snatch Grip Box DLs in it would have been! It was good ... just what I needed I think.

Eats have been perfect ... the PMS has passed!! AF is due tomorrow.

Busy morning ... Michaela is finally better, so she's off to school and Hayley and I are off to gymnastics.

How'd the Dr. go?

Isn't it a happy/sad thing when you go for walks and don't have to carry anyone? It's great to see them grow up, but then you realize they need you a little less. Don't worry, just when you think they've almost abandoned you, they come running back and want to be carried at 50+ lbs!

What HRM do you have? I'm trying to navigate features vs cost and make sure it works with the cardio equipment at the gym. Add in the fact that dh thinks it's useless to even buy one...

The doctor was good ... this was my second visit with him and I'm still evaluating if I think he's any good ... we'll see ...

Oh, they WANT to be carried ... I just refuse at this point!! They are just too heavy. Matt will carry them on his shoulders, but that kills my neck. I will occasionally carry Hayley on my hip, but she's really wiggly and my back always ends up sore!!

I have a Polar which is no longer in production. I really like it as it tracks my max, calories burned, and I can also set it for intervals (either by time or by heart rate). I wear it almost every time I workout (if I don't forget).

Michaela doesn't want to walk. She's tired after school today.
