Poor kid....doesn't have a clue. Good for you for pointing him in the right direction. Hope he takes your advice. Did you tell him he ain't gonna get a girl when he weighs less than them!
Conversation between gym employees this morning ...
Joe: WTF happened to the med ball?
Stan: You know that crazy bald dude who is always doing weird stuff like deadlifts? He was smashing it into the ground for some reason, and it popped.

Totally. Only there were witnesses. I was slamming it right in the middle of the "stretching area" and it suddenly made a loud thunk and rolled to the side instead of coming back up. I thought it just hit something like a seam in the padded floor, so I grabbed it and kept going. After a few more throws it did it more, so I looked more carefully and noticed the poppage. Every time it did threw it, the whole room turned to look. I guess it was really loud, but I couldn't hear it over my mp3 player (you just can't listen to Mandy Moore quietly, right?).

I feel like my growth has been hampered by that missed rep, too.

us the trademark symbol (™), please. I have big plans for that word. I'm going to auction it off to a guru.
I'm sure the prospect of an unneeded, yet free, oil change would have set them off good.

I'm not sure. I've done 425 from the floor, but that was probably a year ago. I've been focusing on my "problems," lately, so no deadlifting, squatting, etc. allowed.
I did my 220 DL after a year of focusing on no deadlifting
Very true. And I remember Ross Enamait did a 495 or something (a BIG pr) after years of not deadlfting, too. I'm not concerned about my strength, since I'm sure it will be better after all this. I just like to deadlift and squat. Hence the "" face. My feelings on my progress are more along the lines of the "" face.

Thanks. I'm really liking the calories cycling. And a few days off in a row seems to be working well for recovery, too.
I'm happy to report that I'm now overweight by BMI standards.
Congrats!
And this has me giggling:

It's amazing how much fluctuation I get from Sunday to Tuesday. Sunday (my peak), I was 198. Tuesday (my valley after a solid day of eating light), I am back down to 192. Six pounds! So, I'd like to be 200lbs on Tuesdays, so I have some time ahead of me still. I might need to hit something like 205 (on a Tuesday), then shift back to fat loss for a few weeks to get back to full jackedness.
On another note, I was so tired after work that I took a nap at 6:30. I remember waking up to the alarm at 7:30 and planning to hit the snooze for 10 more minute, but instead woke up at 11:30.
I watched Priceless (Audrey Tautou and subtitles) on my laptop in bed, then hit the hay again.
