Today's workout was early, Chris.

Warmup/Mobility

Iso Chins, 4xMax time
Alternating DB Bench, 65 (8/8/8)
Reverse Lunges, 35s (8/8/8)

NG Chinups (8/7/6)
Elevated Pushups (17/15/10) - I don't know the name of these. Pushups on two dbs, so you stretch and pause at the bottom.
Bench Pistols (5/5/5) - concentrated on actually sitting back and down vs falling back and down

Those can be the most fun and most productive. I do miss that about my old gym in Virginia. Twenty-four hour key access, and with my job at the time, midnight workouts weren't unheard of. Just me, the iron, and the kick-ass alt/rock station blasting on the radio. Too bad that place is gone now.

Went on a short hike down at the creek.

Allie and Tony

I guess it's a canteen.

No real workout today, but hiked a bit. Lifted really heavy rocks and threw them around, too.

Frozen yogurt after the hike.

All in all, a good Sunday.

Great pics. Hike + moving heavy rocks sounds like a workout to me... one might even call it a functional workout.

I'm with Ben. If I'm stressed, lifting gets the angst out, and I am usually in bed and asleep within an hour after the workout and shower.

True true. Some weeks mine might even be called the fictional workout.

Depends on how you intend to use it/keep it.

Small 9 mil for concealed carry. (Kel-tec is great for this)

357 visible on the hip (or shoulder holster, perhaps)

Functional for what? Moving rocks?

Perhaps FUNctional!

Sounds fun and beneficial, Roland. I can't wait until our parks open and the snow all melts, sometime in May . . . or June.

Last night. Great workout!

Mobility/Warmup (still doing it all!)

HS Bench, 80 (6/5/6/6) - The fitcast made me laugh and miss my 6th rep on set 2. Fuckers.
Chinups, +25 (6/6/5/6) - body weight 192, btw
Bench Pistols (5/5/5/5)

DB Split Squats, 25s (6/6/6/5)
Standing Cable Press, 70* (15/15/12) - Freemotion, rather than the cable station, so weights different from last week
Pallof Press, 35 (to infinity), 50 (12/12)

EZ Bar Curls, 65 (10/10/9+2)
Decline Skullcrushers, 65 (9/10/10) - everytime I do these, I think of that dick Skullcrusher on the MF forums.
Kneeling Cable Crunch, 90 (8/8/8) - these were really hard. Concentrated on curling into a little ball.

Coming of a day of fasting made this workout tough, but good. I had to grab a snack in the middle to keep going.

Met a couple of friends in the gym. That was nice.

One's 20, 5'3" and 118lbs. Sound lovely? He's a boy. The dude just won't eat and he's always fricking running. He can't explain why, but I'm convinced he thinks it's healthy. He hits the treadmill in between chunks of his bro workout because he needs to get his heartrate back up (for some reason).

Now, after a year of him asking questions, he tells me he's a vegetarian. All this time. Only he's not the vegetarian that eats veggies, he's a carbatarian. Only the healthy ones, though - pasta, brown rice, kashi cereal, oatmeal, wheat bread, tortillas. Plus some beans, occasionally. He seems to eat about one serving of actual veggies a day, about a cup of milk, no eggs or cheese (cuz they're bad for you?) plus he occasionally drinks some soy milk for some inexplicable reason.

I told him to buy "Built For Show."

I am stretching regularly. It's very unpleasant!

Short little workout, tonight.

DB Pushups (12/9/8)
Chinups (10/8/6)

Hammer Curls, 25 (15/15/15)
Flyes, 20 (15), 25 (12/12)
Single Leg Squats (5/5/5)

3 Circuits
MB Slams (10)
Pushups, R Hand on MB (5)
Pushups, L Hand on MB (5)
Goblet Squats (5)

I was going to do 5 circuits, but I broke the gym's medicine ball. Pop. Sorry.

*snort* Whoops!!

Conversation between gym employees this morning ...

Joe: WTF happened to the med ball?

Stan: You know that crazy bald dude who is always doing weird stuff like deadlifts? He was smashing it into the ground for some reason, and it popped.

Curls twice in the same week?

How long before you start collar-popping?
