what's the best set you got on TRX pushups? i remember us both trying to get high numbers/set, but i don't remember what your best was. Want to have a race?

Ah, I see. You're a smart dude, so before long you'll be making more coin and working less than you did over the past 15 years, as long as your market is decent.
Thanks for the props. In fact, in addition to Halloween, it was month end, and I signed my first order. My first sale ever, so I am pretty happy.
That printer falls in the middle of our whole color product line and costs more than the annual salary of those people who "won't be paying higher taxes."
But, my customers are ones that buy them to print for their customers. The printers are the core of their business and will be used to print all sorts of things, including bulk mail postcards, invoices, advertisements, brochures, personalized photo Christmas cards, and those calendars that you send to the relatives so that they can see your children's beautiful faces all year long.
Needless to say, it's usually a few months of selling before they sign. It's a relief to have one under my belt.
I'm glad it happened now, because my boss has been mentoring me, and she's been great. A HUGE help and an extremely successful rep for many years. I have a lot to learn from her.
However, she's about ready to pop. She's due for a little boy in four weeks, but I doubt she'll make it another two. We'll see. She'll be missed until she gets back, particularly as year-end approaches. She's been great.

I know I've done 15 in a fresh set, but at what angle, I don't know. Fairly low.
I'll race. Maybe we need to pick an angle or say how far from the ground the handles hang?
To knock out the most, I have suffer.
Those are bruises from the TRX buckle. The buckle is great for quick adjustments, but gnarly for narrow width pushups. I'll take the pain and the bruises, though. If I'm too pretty, I lose my edge.

man, i hear ya about the bruises! I had a thick sweatshirt on, and i still had a burn on my arms from the rope. Along w/ the stone bruises, my arms are pretty much destroyed. Some people at work think i'm in an abusive relationship, i think. haha
I'll measure mine from the ground, but i'd say mine are like 6-8" off the ground? Not sure though. mine are adjustable, but that's what i hit my last set on, so i'd kinda like to keep it the same so i can gauge my progress....
What do you want to race to? 30? 35? 50?
50 would be a bad ass set.

Don't screw with us, Roland. You're not going all Opus Dei on us and performing self punishment are you?

I think it's the chest, not the arms, so you may have the edge!
That's a lot of suspended pushups. I can't do that many regular ones? I can do 28, max standard pushups, what about you?
I'll give it a test tomorrow and see where I start. I'll bet I can get 15 if I know it's just one set. We'll see? How many have you done?
not sure how many regular pushups i've done, but i think suspended ones are actually easier for me since i can use a neutral grip! haha! I think you probably have me beat on the regular, but not sure. I'd imagine i could pump out 15-20 or so regular w/o problem though.

That's a frikkin FANCY machine, there, Roland... nice bruises, too.
Thanks and thanks. I anticipate more bruises are in order to destroy Zach. I'm in.

No, I take a different approach.

I forgot my TRX last night, so I skipped the push half of my workout. The good news is that means I get to workout again, tonight! I love the gym.
Here's the pulling half of my workout.
DB Snatch, 55 (5), 75 (3), 85 (3/3), 75 (3/3/3) - all reps x2, since they were with each hand
Deadlift, 315 (5), 365 (1), 375 (1/1/1), 365 (1/1), 315 (5) - felt very weak in the proper position, and my hip flexors were very tight. Not my best, but the best I could do.
I need to focus more on hip stretching and mobility or I'll never be back to a good DL. The weird thing is that my super wide sumo stance is not going to happen anymore. The leg squeezer muscles (a prime example of why I haven't taken the CPT test yet...) were killing me. But, I'm also not able to assume a good standard DL stance, which leaves me with a "normal" sumo stance. Normally cool, but my Gluteous Maximus (please be right) was a little sore and tight from my recent snatch increase. So, I'm just a mess, all around.
Oh yeah. Some guy came up in the middle of my set of snatches, and standing dangerously close to me and my moving dumbbell, asked "What part are those for?"
I was out of breath, but I managed to say "strength."
"Cool... I never seen those before." and he went back to his Ballistic Front Raises.
at my gym, they have a list of records on the wall.
there was one for chain suspended pushups. The leader had something like 78 pushups in one set!!! CRAZY! he pretty much dominated it, and the last place guy (probably 6 ppl on the list, had something like 30). So, i want my name on that list.
I'm gonna do reg. pushups tonight probably, so i'll let you know how well i do (or how bad).

Wow. I thought 50 was crazy! 30 is a good start. I got 21 good ones in my first set, and I didn't leave any in the hole.
Hmmm... you got 49 PUs altogether. Those pesky rest periods...
What are your one legged squats from bench? Is that pistol style?

It's almost like a step-up, but you stand on the bench lengthwise, then lower yourself until one heal touches the ground. You go as low as you can, extending the lower leg as far forward as necessary. Then press yourself back up.

You're welcome. That's how I work with the holidays every year. If you're going to do some damage at the table, minimize the damage on the body. Make it better by getting your body ready for the surplus or the deficit. It's like priming a pump.

Based on what you said, I ordered McDonald's Flexible Dieting, and UD2.0 last night, to get more background on partitioning and other nutrition ideas.
