Maybe I just like the really old fashioned names for places!

Actually I put that when I first joined and I was trying to decide how anonymous or self-revealing I was going to be. Since then I think I've blathered all over my log that I live in that newfangled Minneapolis place.

So do you really wear "cold weather attire" in your part of Cali-- err-- Laurasia?

Great workouts, Roland.
And, I always thought you were a little unbalanced anyway.

I live in S Cal, near the coast. Sometimes it gets down to 50 degrees in the winter! Gotta keep your hoodie at the ready...

Move to Minnesota, then you won't have anything seen for the next 5 months.

I'm sure that has to do with some level of shrinkage...

Hey Roland,

I enjoyed your Starbucks article. I was wondering what that Vivanno stuff was and was very skeptical. I won't be drinking it anytime soon because of TNT but good to know it isn't poison. My drink of choice is a venti unsweetened passion iced tea. So good but definitely not a meal. I am impressed that they offer unsalted roasted nuts although I am sure they are about $3 an ounce. In a previous life I was a huge fan of the cinnamon scone. Not anymore.

Thanks for being such a help to me these past couple of months. I'm sure you will be rewarded in a future life.

Thanks! Glad I could help.

The little bags of Starbucks nuts? They aren't TOO expensive. I think they are $2.95, but I'm pretty sure they are 1.5-3 oz in those bags. Seemed like they were a weird size. When I buy them, it's two servings.

So the most you can do in one set is 11, but then you can follow that with a set of 8? That's pretty damn good! And how did you manage to get one more in the set after?

I've managed 13 in one set before, but in the second set I can barely scrape 6! Last time I tried chins, I went for 3x8 but got 8,8,6, Hrmmmmm I have to try these again some time...

Also, you're looking pretty swole there, bro.

I can sometimes get 13, but the last time, I was a little lighter. If I'm fresh and START with chins I might be able to get 13. If I go for that last rep too hard, it really effects the total number. The strain takes something outta me in the next round(s).

I think I might have just had more rest between sets to get that one extra. Or pussed out on the 2nd set. You pick.

I was being mildly facetious; however, that looks fairly killer, as in rape, pillage, and maim YTWLs. Good stuff.

I was antsy and hit the gym.

Power Cleans/Push Press

Worked singles up to my max. Apparently, I can power clean my body weight. 190. I couldn't push press it, though. The most I could push press or jerk was 175 today. I still think that's a PR for me, though.

I think I could get the jerk up there with some practice, though. All in the hips.

A, Power Cleans/Push Press/Jerk, 135 (3/3), 155 (2/2), 175 (1 - Max PP), 190 (1 - Max Clean)

B, Power Cleans/Push Press, 155 (2/2/2), 135 (5/5)

C1, Front Squat, 135 (10/10/10)
C2, Face Pull to neck, 75 (15/15/15)

D, Overhead Shrugs, 95 (10), 115 (8/8)

Roland is happy.
