Here is the TRX. Basically, you're doing push-ups with your hands on suspended rings of some sort hung close to the ground (feet can be on the ground or elevated), which makes stability a total bitch. You can do the same with (I'm guessing) stretch bands or with Elite rings (I have a pair of these).

Get in plenty of wall squats and prying to get your hips mobile.

And I think it's time you pick up a KB. That last workout would be so much more enjoyable - but all in good time.
Sorry to veer off-topic (but this place seems to ALWAYS go off topic!). I know wall squats but what is prying?

Prying is when you wedge, force, stretch yourself into the squat position that you really want to be in. You grab a wall or do it in a doorway or something. It's not exactly pleasant, but it has helped in the past. I think I need to so even more!

Ahhhhh...nice!! I think what I found initially were the TRX Atomic Push Ups, they look equally painful...but interesting. I actually wish they had something like those rings at our gym...I'm thinking there's nowhere in our apt to put them really. It looks like something I'd be curious to try! Thanks for the info!!!

Great job working on pistols. I've been thinking about them after having glanced through "The Naked Warrior" from the library. Keep up the good job. The outdoor workouts look like fun too. And, it's all about fun -- right?

Hola, muchacha!

I'm in Virginia this week for some training. They have a gym that works just fine for a week here are there. I got in late because the weather in Atlanta, then DC sucked, but I managed to have a workout late, just to work off all the sitting around.

A, DB Hang Clean, 4x3, 75lbs

B, DB Snatch, 1x4@75, 4x6@65

C1, One Hand Bench, 4x6@65
C2, DB Row, 3x8@65

D1, Cable Pullthrough, 3x10
D2, Facepulls, 2x15
D3, Straight Arm Cable Pullovers w/Stretch, 2x12

Off to breakfast and class. Bye.

A, Double DB Hang Clean to Push Press, 5x5 w/2 55lbs dbs

B, Jumbled superset next. It was mix and match with the exercise order and overlaps. It all got done.

B1, Pushups, 4xMax (22/20/17/15)
B2, Goblet Squats, 1x15 (65), 2x15 (75)
B3, Chinups, 4xMax (12/10/7/6)
B4, DB Rear Delts, 1x6 (25), 2x10 (15)
B5, Hammer Curls, 25lbs 1x14, 1x15+5 drop, 1x10+6+4 drop

Off to dinner.

I worked out HARD yesterday. With a couple of Marines (who do CF stuff). We made up a routine and killed it.

A, DB Snatch, 80lbs, 4x3

B, DB Push Jerk, 65lbs, 4x6

C1, Alternate DB Bench, 65lbs, (8/8/7/6)
C2, Two Point Row, 65lbs, (12/11/9/8)

D1, DB Front Squats (two dbs, a 70 & a 65), (8/6/6/5)
D2, Facepulls, 50lbs, (15/15/15)

Notes: hard.

Nah, my bet is that Roland wanted 135 lbs and there wasn't a bar/plates available. He grabbed two db that equaled 135 and proceeded to kick some ass. BTW - did I mention the db's were probably stacked end on end as he balanced them on his head while doing the squats? I'm serious.

Leesburg, huh? Hope you're getting your history on. It's alllll over the place down there. I didn't really appreciate it until I moved away from Maryland in 2003...

Winner!

Over 60lbs, they only have one of each. They are they big, rusty, cast-iron hex dbs, too. Ugly, but they work.

Here and there. I've been to DC a lot and to a few of civil war things out there. I'll be out there over a weekend in a couple of weeks, so I might get some in.

Oh. Hi. I'm home for a week, then back to VA.

Our old old gym was like that. Not with the one db of the heavy ones. But the big, rusty, old cast iron ones. Some were rusted and pitted enough to have actual parts missing. I think one of the 30s was only slightly heavier than the 25s it had so much missing.

Rats... my trainer actually has me do imbalanced lifts (on occasion) like that on purpose, for the reason I mentioned.

Just hope you're doing balanced work for both sides (unless you're working to correct an imbalance, of course).

Yes, we alternate the heavier side each set.
