Awww yeah. Putting "porn" in the title has to be a good thing for book sales.
Especially if you sell it over the web...

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG
I revisited the Magic 50. Last time I did it, it took 17 minutes. Same time this time. I can do better. Like if I remember a water bottle so I don't have to walk across the room for a drink.
I didn't feel the "OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG" afterward, either. Still tough, though.
Then, I played three hours of WII Sports with my son. Whew! I destroyed him! He's weak.
Where you at, Captain Fritter? 21 hours without an update gives the peanut gallery the shakes.
Mmm.... a shake sounds good...
I'm sleepy. Too tired to workout. I'm planning to workout tomorrow. Stress and lack of sleep have conspired against me. Only I've slept plenty. So, I guess it's just the stress. My diet does not include donuts, though. That's why I chose the fritter. Safe!
Stress is medium. I've got my kids this weekend, and my daughter's very grumpy. Anything my son does is wrong/annoying to her. I finally had to tell her to go find a happy place. I couldn't take it.
Here's my workout. Had to revamp, since I won't be able to hit the gym this weekend. I had an upper/lower split setup for today and tomorrow. Now, it will be heavy full body today, trx and bodyweight/full body, on Sunday.
A1: Squats, 8x3, 255 (I actually lost track of my number of sets, so it was at least 8)
A2: DB Squeeze Press, 6x3-4, 70lbs
B1: DB Row, 6x3, 90
B2: Rack Pull, 3x3 @ 355, but it felt wrong, so I dropped the weight and did 3x5-6, 315
Rack pulls are so much harder than DLs, due to my narrower stance on the rack pulls.
I hope I can use this weekend to reset my brain. I wish for the olden days, when the kids went to bed at 7 or 8... and, I still had brain left for the evening. Maybe I'll go to bed early and just get up before them.
Is she in puberty? I can't remember her age ... teenage girl hormone fluctuations are the worst!! I remember being a total bitch ... and all the other girls were total bitches ... it was awful ...
Sending you hugs ...

She's 11. And, she has some signs. Certainly possible, but I keep track, and this would be out of the normal date range.
Is it considered bad form to keep track of these things? The ex used to ask me when her time was coming, so she obviously wasn't offended. But, I never used it against her, either.
No, it's fine to track I think ... I certainly plan to track my girls' times ... I think it helps be more tolerant of their moods!!
I'm sure the upheaval and turmoil of their mother's failed relationship is weighing on them/her ... maybe take her for some pampering this weekend? A pedicure or manicure ... or maybe just a movie or a trip to the mall ... something to let her know that her life isn't falling apart and that you will be steady in her life no matter what. If that doesn't work, try some chocolate ...

Thanks. I'm trying to be stable. She's concerned that they are going to work it out and move again. Luckily, her Mom signed an eight month lease today. That gets her through the end of 6th grade, at least.
Meanwhile, my son doesn't care. For him, the grass is always greener. "There are fewer annoying bullies where you fish up there," he said. Of course, he was only able to fish once in 9 weeks, up there. Here he fishes every single day and the "bullies" rarely come by. And the bullies are just annoying 6th graders who happen to be too loud for his taste. Not bullies at all.
I suppose I have a few months to figure out a contingency plan, in case her Mom does decide she wants to move again. Hopefully, I'll be able to offer the kids the option to stay with me. I doubt it will come to that...
* I'm almost sure I screwed up last time. I don't think I really did 10 rounds last time. I still suck, though. If you look at the times, I was 28:36 after round 8. Suckage.
This was really hard. I haven't really done much working out in the last week or so. Not at the level I wanted to. Kids, work, and stress add up, too.
It felt really good to do it, though. Although, round one made me want to rethink this workout.
Well, at least you can do it. I'd never get past the rope jumping.....I've never jumped rope and I'm a real clutz at it. I'm determined to get it down over the next month or so and started working on it Friday. Sooner or later I ought to be able to get past 10 or so turns without messing up.

Egham, you'll be surprised at how quickly the rope jumping will progress with a little practice ... I sucked when I started and now I can "easily" get 100+ turns before messing up ...

I'm not that good. I can usually get a good 50+ in before blowing it, but sometimes I hit my feet every 10 or so. Yesterday, I did best in the last round. I did all 100 without tripping up. Shocking!
I did a TRX workout today.
A1: Suspended Incline Press, hands on blocks, 5x4-5 (not one crash landing, but it was close!)
A2: Assisted Pistols, 4x6-7 (pretty wobbly in round four)
B1: Rows (feet on chair), 3x8-10
B2: Back Extensions, 3x15
C1: Curls, 3x8
C2: Balance Lunges, 3x8-10
First TRX in the garage. It's hard with a smooth floor. Had to go barefoot, but even then, I ended up having to really work to keep my feet from sliding on some of these.
This was really, really hard.
My neighbor walked by when I was up in the air on the suspended incline press. I'm sure I'm labeled a freak at the HOA meetings. What with the sandbags, med ball slams, and now this. Oh, and I was digging through a box of kitchen stuff, looking for a tea ball. Tony picked something up and asked what it was. "That's a bone saw, buddy." Perfect time for yet another neighbor to walk by. So, I look up and Mrs. Chihuahua is right there. Nice.
At least the news reports will never show my neighbors saying "he seemed so normal."

I've been bringing a yoga mat remnant out and using that for some things so that I don't slide ... seems to work well ...

Great TRX workout, LD...Especially on all of those suspended incline presses! As someone who is really struggling with those, I can really appreciate what you've accomplished. I'm simultaneously amazed that I can do one or two of them and also displeased with my efforts. I've about decided to start subing pike presses, as suggested in NG, to build more strength for a more productive run at them.

How quickly do we lose our endurance, strength, etc.? It seems to me that a week or two shouldn't matter all that much, should it? Doesn't your body actually make a jump in gains when you rest for a week? For me the lose is more mental than anything, I think. I feel defeated if I lose my momentum and it gets all too easy to stay in the non-workout mode. But, once I'm at it again, my mind seems to shift pretty quickly back into the workout mentality. But, that first workout after a break seems to be the hardest. Sorry, just a stream of thoughts....
