Ahem ... what was that about a snatch? Is that an approved rehab movement by your therapist?

If you need a therapist to approve snatch for you, I think your system is all wrong.

B1, Corner Press, 4x6-8, 100
B2, Corner 1 Handed Row, 4x6-8, 75 -- these were really hard. I used the end of bb, which is really hard and fat. Hard to hold.

Good -- my grip seems to be getting stronger. I was able to deadlift 355 without gloves or straps
I'm impressed. I wish I could deadlift like that!

Workouts are looking great Roland. Very nice job on those deadlifts, and I like the barbell complex! I don't see many people doing Zercher squats, very impressive.

And it's great to see another guy doing Yoga and lifting heavy. I just had my first class last week and it was great, my next class is tonight.

I can't seem to find a yoga class yet that isn't boring.

Hey what is a bb Pushup?

Congrats on the snatches without injury.

Hey, it took me a long time to get there. If I remember correctly, you've got me beat on the DB Bench, though.

Thanks, Paul. I like the Zercher Squats, but they sure can hurt. I'm hoping it's really strengthening my lower back. My worry as I get up in DL weight is focused on that area. Plus, with back and front squats, I often feel the fatigue in the lower back before my legs. Time to get the core tuned up a little more, I suppose.

Thanks.

I think we might need to change our mindset/expectations re yoga. Boring is one thing, but if it's boring because it's not exciting, then we're expecting the wrong thing. I guess (as boring as this sounds) that we need to focus on relax time. I'm trying.

A bb pushup is just setting the bb down, push is against something so it doesn't roll, and do some pushups. I suppose you could NOT push it against something and just balance, too.

I do those (any bb complex, really) with a preloaded barbell, so they have a hex weight. No need to push it against anything.

Nice grip progression.

Funny thing - I haven't worn my gloves in a long time. But for some reason I never took them out of my gym bag. They're still there, on the bottom.

I like that attitude! My fiancee is really into Gym Jones. The concept is great.

I, too, have just had a cange in my way of thinking about weighloss. I had to give up the dream of being "perfect." I was never satisfied. I finally figured out that I have to strive to make MY body looks its best, rather than try to get the body of someone else. I'll never be a size 2. It's just not going to happen, but I can still look damn good.

Sometimes we have to stop and appreciate what we do have instead of focusing on what we still want. Nothing comes from that except dissapointment and frustration. So, keep up that way of thinking. It's actually very liberating. Best of luck.

What? NO!

Did Jamie Lee give up before she was...

Perfect?

Did Mariel Hemingway give up before she finally gave it her...

Personal Best?

Did Whoopee give up before she got that...

Fatal Beauty?

NO!

So you don't either.

Tonight's workout.

A, Box Jumps. 30" box. 2x25

B, Box Leaps. 24" box. 3x12 -- This is leaping over the box.

C, Cardio. 20 long minutes on the bike, reading a book.

There was a girl in the aerobics room dancing while I box jumped. She was very good, but it was a bit distracting. It was some sort of malaysian sword dancing. She could dance with the sword balanced on her head! She did other cool moves, too. There was a scarf! And long pole that got twirled around. Her hips and booty were very, very swively. It was hypnotic.

LMAO.
So did you only last 20 minutes on the bike because that was when she stopped dancing?

Man, there are some real freaks in California!! Here in New England, Land of Steady Habits, you would never see someone doing that in a public gym!!! That's what dance studios are for!!

You guys are funny.

Tonight's workout, I decided to see how much I could deadlift. 425lbs, apparently. That's a 20lb PR.

A, Deadlift
135x6
225x4
315x2
365
385
405
425 - Didn't totally lock it out, because the bar started to slip, ripping a callus pretty badly
425 - After cutting the flap off and taping up.
435 - F
405
385

B1, Corner Press, 4x6-8, 110 (8/8/8/8)
B2, Single Arm Corner Row, 4x6-8, 75 (6/6/6/6)
B2, Lying Ext Rotation, 4x15-20, 5 (18/17/17/16)

C1, Reverse Lunges, 4x6-8, 135 (8/8/8/8)
C2, EZ Bar Wall Curls, 4x6-8, 70 (8/8/7/7)
C3, Ser Crunch w/Tri Ext, 4x6-8, 20 (8/8/6/6)

D1, Close Grip Pushups (25/18)
D2, Face Pulls, 50 (25/22)

Today's run ins (or runs in)

I'm trying to get my little gym buddy (18 years and 115lbs of trombone playin' ska machine) to lift a little better. The boy needs a routine. He's all about the curls, bench, and the cardio. NROL is in his future.

A guy tried to sell me on juice (he's a distributer). It wasn't pretty, since he did nothing to protect himself, leading with "You look pretty healthy. What kind of juice do you drink?" His defense wasn't good. Stuttering and stammering about no sugar and antioxidants and all that crap.

Great DL PR, Roland. That's some serious weight.

Sets a PR after ripping off a callus and taping over it. Studly.

Kickass DL! Congrats, man!

Now you have ripped calluses and cool ink. No wonder the juice distributors think you're a hot prospect.
