I'm not looking for typical, so there ya go.

I taped up the open wounds and got on with things.

Warmup, rope, 5 minutes

Jump Rope EIT (modified from Ross Enemait's FTC)

Six rounds
Rope, 100+ turns
MB Slams, 10
Pushups, 10
30s rest

My own thing
Six rounds
Rope, 100+ turns
Up stairs (three street levels)
Job back around and down hill
30s rest

The last two rounds of stairs seemed pathetic.

The whole workout was about 40 minutes.

I know! Shocking, huh?

Weird, long day. Meetings far away from the home office, followed by a few beers after work, which left me (mr lightweight) far from home and a little buzzed, so I finished up some work at a local coffee house, then headed home sober.

Hit the gym on the way home, too. 11:30 is very late for a workout for me, and there's a whole weird crowd in there. Including the 80s flashback guys! Complete with do rags and those lifting pants that used to be the thing.

On top of that, they both had van dykes and baseball caps. One was in jorts and a belt.

Despite the comedy, I got in a good workout.

This round, I'm trying that Chad Waterbury thing where you stop your set when you slow down. Today is 25 reps, using a weight I can do 4-6 reps to start. You do as many sets as it takes to get your 25 reps.

A1, Jump Shrug, 205lbs, 6/6, 225lbs, 5/3/4/3 (225 next week)
A2, Two Pt Row, 75lbs, 6/6, 80lbs, 6/6/5 (80 next week)

B1, Front Squat, 155lbs, 5/4/4/4/4/4
B2, 45 Degree Cable Pres, 60-70lbs (70lbs next week)

C1, Decline Serratus Crunch, 25lbs, 6, 20lbs, 5/4/4/4/3 (20lbs next week)
C2, BB Reverse Lunge, 135lbs, 6/5/4/4/3/3

This first time was a little confusing because I was figuring out the weights to use. It would also help to have a sheet of paper to make marks and keep track.

I don't think it amazing, but it's different and sort of fun.

No boo boos tonight, either!

Don't fear the Zubaz!!!

Actually, they were "invented" by a guy around here who owns a powerlifting gym (I even met him once about 20yrs ago at my old pt job). Word is they are going to re-introduce them this year. So, if you missed out last time, you're in luck!!!

I never thought I'd say this, but I seem to have a handle of eating normal food without counting anything. I'm still eating TNT style about 75% of the time, but I've had corn tortillas, rice, beer, donuts, etc. over the past two weeks. Sushi and sake, tonight.

No binges and still seem to be losing inches.

I suppose if I look at the diet, overall, it's like the original Adam's Diet at the moment. Seems like 1 meal a day has carbs. I don't think Adam meant for donuts to be included, but at least I count that as my 1 a day carb, then stop.

Scary. I heard they were back. This guy was obviously wearing his vintage ones. Although, if you wear them constantly between then and now, I'd call them old rather than vintage.

Wow. That's a real accomplishment. I can appreciate that kind of breakthrough.

One of "the 300 guys" has been going vigilantly in the mornings here recently. Similar to your pose he's doing it (essentially) all wrong. Long rest between exercises\sets, crap form (that ends up changing the exercises), and doing the whole thing all the time. He might be doing what he needs to do, it seems kind of strange to me though.

Good job on the learning how to eat. Just don't screw it all up and turn fatty on us.

Locking in my nutrition is still a work in progress for me. It's not that I'm eating the bad stuff, just not enough of the good stuff.

I'm reading TNT now, and will probably incorporate it's principles when I'm finished.

Great work by the way.

OMG! Those sweaters are priceless! Unfortunately, I still see those around here sometimes. I'd bet they'd look great with Zubaz!!! Ya think? (at least I'm pretty sure it'll be a long time before I see manpris around here)

Good job on the eating! I think that intuitively eating is something most of us strive towards. It sounds so "normal."

No reason you can't have a donut a day and still be jacked/ripped. Glad you've found a way to enjoy life's little pleasures without turning them into an unstoppable orgy of gluttony.

And Zubaz were great for cold football games, because you could put three or four layers of pants under them. Warm legs are nice.

One of my customers was wearing the one on the right the other day. With a nice pair of Kirkland mom jeans (and all white sneakers).

We love our little donut shop we found a few months ago. We only go on Saturday morning and get one donut for each adult (well, sometimes two for me) and donut holes for the kids. The shop is run by this sweet little asian lady and her family, and it feels good that she knows us.

We used to have the same deal with an ice cream place on Friday nights, but the guy doesn't work there anymore. Hope he didn't get fired for all those free cookies he gave RedWifey!

Didn't Bill Hartman bring the bar speed thing to mainstream(ish) back at the 05\06 JP summit (what ever one actually had a DVD)?

Do you like it? I tried a couple times but I just never had the discipline to stick with it.

I think you're right. I think Bill's talked about it before.

I like it so far, but yesterday, I would forget that I'm supposed to stop. So, I f'd up all the numbers. At least I figured out some good starting weights.

I tried it once before, but I didn't get it and didn't do it right. This time it seems okay. He explained it better in a thread and now I seem to get it.

1. New Buddy Lee rope?
2. Help me out--corner squat and press with bar jammed in the corner, one handed pressing? Same with the row?

The other key is to know when you're not equipped to handle the battle. On bad emotion days, I have to got strict, or I lose it. I can binge if I'm sad or nervous, so I try not to eat anything good on those days. If I do, I might end up eating everything good.

I keep forgetting to order the rope. I have other ropes that still are yet to break.

Yes on the corner press, but it's two hands for the squat and press, in this case, plus I use a v-grip handle for the row. The weight seems light, but it was around 20 reps each set.

Hey I like the xxx numbering scheme. That way it can be whatever you want it to be and you can PR every time. Hey Roland... I am just dropping in to say, "Hi" and also was curious RE your shoulder.

Plus xxx is kinda like a porn rating. Bonus.

Today's workout, brought to you by the number 35. Starting with a weight that you can do 10-12 times, max.

A1, Two Handed DB Cleans, 55 (7/7/7/6/6/6)
A2, Pushups (9/7/7/7/6)

Annoying gym night, I guess. It started with this guy watching me do the cleans the whole time. I don't mind if people watch, but guy was watching me in between sets, too. Like I was doing something totally mysterious and he couldn't wait to see what happened next.

B1, Squats, 175 (6/5/5/5/4/4/4/4)
B2, Chinups (6/6/6/6/5/4/4)

I'm squatting, and this goober was doing deadlifts next to me. First of all, he started it on the rack, walked it back, lowered it, then did the deadlift. He was doing sets of 4 at 225lbs, it looked like. The first 2 sets were fine, but he didn't finish his lift after those sets.

That was just dumb, but he was also annoying. In between his sets he sat down on a bench that just happened to be sitting right behind me. He just sat there, gazing through me. Like Puddy from Seinfeld. Every once in a while, he'd do this weeble wobble thing while he was sitting there. Like he was trying to see around me, only he wasn't. He did it even when I walked to get a drink.

C1, GHR (9/7/7/6/6)
C2, H2L Woodchop, 80 (8/8/8/8/8)

This guy walked up to the Freemotion machine, noticed my stuff at the base and walked over to the one next to mine. There was a guy actually using it. He was resting in between his sets. How the guy didn't see him standing RIGHT THERE is beyond me. He adjusts the arms and then notices the guy. Asks if he's using it. He is. The guy already using it offers to let oblivious guy work in. But, he's too grumpy and says "I have plenty of other things to do" and practically stalks off.

I'm going back and forth between the GHR and the Freemotion machine. The guy looks at me on the GHR and shakes his head, like I'm annoying him by going back and forth. When I go back to the Freemotion, he grabs a ball and does ball crunches at the base of the GHR machine. I don't believe that he didn't pick that spot on purpose. He was being a dick. So, I went and did my GHRs anyway, and Mr Grumpy sighed and moved.

Apparently he didn't really need to use the Freemotion, since he left the gym at this point.

On a personal note, I really didn't want to workout. I was sort of tired and in a funk, but I haven't worked out since Weds. Nothing at all.

I'm glad I started. Once I got going, it was all good.
