I wasn't aware that they made men's unitards. You'll have to model yours at the next summit.

Nice rope jumping. You'll be nailing that double-under soon.

Thanks for the pic! That's pretty much the guy. Only this guy also had a beaded manbag and a macramé shoulder strap for his yoga pad.

Way sexy, Red.

This is a new thing. Just a few months of jumping. Then, I hit a wall and couldn't get better. The Ross Enamait dvd has a jump rope lesson that helped a lot.

Strangely, it's the abiility to switch back and forth betwen one and two feet that lets you continue longer. When I was doing two feet only, you tire out so fast. The Ross Method is superior, it seems.

I love Ross's jump rope stuff, but I have never purchased any of his dvd's or anything. Watching his videos helped me learn to shift from running to two foot jumping though.

The double unders are more mental than anything I think. Once I got my first couple, within a week I was able to chain off 10-15.

The workouts are looking great btw!

I just did 15 minutes of jumping. Tried and failed on the double unders. next time.

Can't have two good jump rope days in a row, apparently. It wasn't so good. Not bad, but not good. It was still exercise, so that's that.

I don't recall where I saw this, but the recommendation was to practice knees to the chest jumping without a rope. Then add the rope back into the picture, only doing single jumps, still keeping knees up to the chest. Then move to trying a double under. The actual DU won't require your knees to come up nearly that far, but the exagerated movement seems to help nail those first few.

Hell ya that counts! If that rope goes under your legs twice in one jump, you did one. Grats!

My first ones were really ugly. I would jump so high and land so hard there was no way to get back up and jump again. It will get better!

That is impressive. I'll work on that. I'll need three volunteers. I have a bad shoulder, so your size will be critical. 5' to 5' 5" I think. An athletic build would help, I think.

Meanwhile, I continue with normal rope jumping. Several double unders, today. And, I was able to keep going afterward!

Rope Jumping, 5 minutes
A1, DB Cleans, 8x75, 8x90, 8x90, 8x90
A2, Ab Rollouts (knees), 10, 10, 10

Rope Jumping, 5 minutes
B1, TRX Rows, 8, 7, 6, 6
B2, Gator Crawls, far, far, not so far, even less far

Rope Jumping, 5 minutes
C1, SB Zercher Squats, 75lbs, 10, 10, 10
C2, SB Pushups (neutral grip), 15, 8, 8

Rope Jumping, 5 minutes
D, MB Slams, 100 slams for time, 2 minutes, 49s (3m, 5s last time)

I have two neighbors that see me workout a lot. One laughs and comments (today, she asked if I was in the military, "cuz you're uh... intense." The other, a guy, won't even look me in the eye. He walks by like I'm not there, which is strange because I was totally in his way and he had to walk around me with his groceries.

You slam down medicine balls 100 times in a row, drag things all over the street, and shave your head every Sunday.

Sounds intense to me.

And I can't picture the SB Zercher squats?

Not strange at all. He's totally intimidated. You're making him look bad and that's not really very nice, ya know?

Two ideas about neighbor #2:

1. Lisa~ is right, he's intimidated and afraid you're gonna steroid rage all over his ass if he makes eye contact.

2. You pissed him off about something. Perhaps your lunking too much with your workouts and he doesn't have access to a Planet Fitness' Lunk Alert button.

I'll add a third idea - maybe both neighbors want you.

Good points, all. Mostly...

Here's my workout for today

5 rounds
A1, DB Swings, 50lbs, 20 reps
A2, Bodyweight squats, 20 reps
A3, TRX Presses, 20 reps

B, SB Shoulders, 130lbs, 6/6/4/4/4/3/2/1

The SB shouldering was really hard. It's a newer bag and bigger, so the bags slide around a lot more. The old bag was a lot firmer.

You should invite Steve (aka TheSteve) to move in with you for a while. He'll take care of that crap, right quick.

Well, I figure to give it one good jump and we'll all end up in a in a big pile of giggliness. Tickling will ensue. Maybe a pillow fight. Hopefully, one will bring a pastrami sandwich, for after...

I am totally in. I think I qualify. Nice workouts there Dawg. I have to admit that before I joined this board I would think you were nutz too if you lived next to me and did all that stuff.

You guys are soooo funny.

A, Rope Jumping, 5 minutes

B, Box Jumps
24" x 10
30" x 5
32" x 3
34" x 3
36" x Failure
36" x Big Failure! Everything went flying
34" x 3
34" x 3
34" x 3

C, Jumps Over Box
24" x 8
24" x 8
24" x 8
24" x 8

D, Lateral Jumps Over Box
12" x 6
12" x 6
12" x 6
12" x 6

E, Rope Jumping, 20 minutes
at least 6 double unders where I was able to continue on, afterward
3 times I got a double under, continued jumping, and got another double under
yay

Ok. The big box jump crash was slightly embarrassing. But, I'll make 36" soon. I think it's mental. If I can do 4 sets of 3 at 34", I should be able to hit 36". Of course, I could use a spotter to hold the stack... That might help with the confidence. But, it just looks soooo high.

Good workout - you may have failed at 36" now but at least you tried. You'll get it though I'm sure.
