Did a few bw squats, too. Not pretty, but I'm feeling good about the future of my squats. Chris spotted a few things wrong. Namely my body. So, at least it's narrowed down to one area.
Actually, stretching of the back and lats, rolling, and prying are the prescription. Add that to some of the drills and moves Julie prescribed and Gal ordered and things might go well down the road.
Actually the prescription is for Galya to ask you every day if you've done your thoracic mobility on the roller, hip prying, hip flexor stretches, and cossack stretches. Nagging works.
And if you slack we can always arrange for Big John to come over and provide some assisted stretching.

And sorry I haven't called you back ... life just hasn't slowed down one iota.
Maybe later today I'll call ...
Wait until you're all healthy again and then we'll talk. Feel better.

Oh, I forgot to log the workout. Just a sandbag and a db. ...and some extra plates. ...and a small sack.
A1, SB Clean and Push Jerk, 85, 3/3/3 - per side
B1, SB Shoulders, 115, 3/3/3/3/3 - per side
B2, 1 Arm DB Floor Press, 80, 2/2/2/2/2
B3, DB Row, 105, 2/2/2/2/2
C1, Pushups, 20/15/13
C2, SB BO Row, 85, I forget how many
C3, SB Reverse Lunge, alternating legs, 85, 10/10 - per leg
C4, OH Walks, 35lbs in sack, there and back, twice
1. Bad -- the aforementioned cold...
2. Bad -- I popped two zinc tablets on an empty stomach and immediately (like in 5) got horribly sick to my stomach. This has happened before, but I didn't know it was the zinc that did it. An hour later, I'm mostly better, but that drive was horrible. Sweaty and light headed. No vomit! 20+ years, baby!
3. Good -- church and saw all my friends. Purelled, no sneezing or outward symptoms, and no physical contact, so I think we're good on not passing the cold.
4. Good -- Panera Bread, bottomless coffee, and a semi-quiet booth in the back allowed me a couple of hours of Skype time with my girl in bulgaria. A great long talk, then a virtual "tuck in" at her bed time...
5. Bad -- Panera Bread also has treats. Feed a cold, starve a fever, right? check! BTW, they had the old-style bear claws with the almonds and almond filling. Not like those crappy things that places try to pass off as bear claws by shape alone.
6. Good -- Bulgogi at home. Not from scratch. I got the marinated stuff from the butcher, who apparently thought it was funny that a non-asian would be in that market and ordering stuff from him. He brought a translater out to help me.
7. Good -- Oriental Brewing (OB on the label) beer. Strange name. It has rice in it, too. It was refreshing. I think it's budget beer, but who can tell? The words are in something other than English and it was a big bottle that was mysteriously priced.
8. Bad -- by bed time, I was 100% into the cold and feeling lousy.
More lousy today. I feel like crap. Maybe a bit of a fever, so that rules out eating!
Oh noes! Feel better! When the weather shifts everyone always gets sick, I dunno about the west coast, but here it's starting to shift into fall...YAY!
Bulgogi...mmmmm! Btw...those bear claws are the reason I don't go into Panera...
Bummer! How did you catch my cold all the way across the country?
Feel better ... maybe some homemade chicken soup is in order?
My thoughts exactly. My whole house is fighting a cold. I thought it was a regional thing, but I guess even the beautiful California climate results in colds!

Sorry about your cold
Actually I brought home a few goodies from Panera today and a bear claw was one of them. lol. I am going through the management training and part of the training is that you are supposed to 'try' everything on the menu at least once during the first couple of weeks.
No way I could do that, and stay at a deficit, so I have adopted this strategy of 'taking things home to try'. Today I brought home a bear claw, two pumpkin muffies, and an orange scone.
I give them to my parents. lol. I did try the orange scone a week or so ago, and it was AWESOME! Maybe I'll try the bear claw one day . . . .

If you weren't born drop dead gorgeous, be thankful for the opportunity to develop character first.
Nearly half of American youths aged 12-21 years are not vigorously active on a regular basis. About 14 percent of young people report no recent physical activity. Inactivity is more common among females (14%) than males (7%) and among black females (21%) than white females (12%).
Participation in all types of physical activity declines strikingly as age or grade in school increases.
Only 19 percent of all high school students are physically active for 20 minutes or more, five days a week, in physical education classes.
Daily enrollment in physical education classes dropped from 42 percent to 25 percent among high school students between 1991 and 1995.
Well designed school-based interventions directed at increasing physical activity in physical education classes have been shown to be effective.
Social support from family and friends has been consistently and positively related to regular physical activity.
Too bad we don't still have the old spammer forum ... that was some funny stuff!
This one? He's too smart to post in there. Too obvious.

On another note, I scored a case of Myoplex Light protein powder from a neighbor. Individual packets of vanilla, chocolate, strawberry. I would never buy this stuff, but if it's free, I'll use it. It would be nice not to have the carbs (17g, per), but whatever. I'll keep some in my gym bag until they are gone and save my regular protein powder for cooking and banana shakes.
Why did he give it up? Hard to say. As I accepted the box, I heard variations on "don't want to get big," "it's putting on fat," and something about his wife being concerned about him using supplements and "his health."
I forgot to ask him if he had any dangerous kettlebells or weights laying around... I'm sure I'll see the wife at some point. I can always make sure she's keeping her husband safe.

You're equally, if not more concerned about his safety than the wife, so you'd do them both a favor and take any/all nasty exercise equipment off their hands.

I didn't see a load of mobility and flexibility work logged. Gotta be an oversight...

Yes, it was an oversight. It was a cut/paste from my lifting log on my blackberry.
I was winging it, but I got mobile. Now that I'm well, I plan to actually write down a whole mobility/flexibility routine to follow. The sickness interfered... I'll try to have it done and run through a few times by next week's beach training.
