You got hungry, because you are not supposed to do 2 exercises that target your back in a row

God, no! Back and forth is miserable. The only thing worse would be back without the forth.

Since I'm relying on the Omron very much (maybe too much) as it has been very reliable for me most of the time but have seen others complain that it didn't make any sense at all.. I just had to comment.
The person for whom it didn't make sense got DEXA'd at around 15% (don't remember exactly) while her BIA consistently told her 25-something%.
Since I got a bit of a scare today and was seeing bf% trending upwards (yeah, carb intake is going down so it's probably just because of dehydration) I was thinking out loud and came up with the following explanation (outside dehydration).
"I'm having a hunch this may be because BIA measures just subcutaneous fat and not visceral fat (assuming a fixed % relative to age /sex) and what may happen is that when you get leaner.. your body may deposit extra fat under the skin? Or retain water... to give better protection? "
Would this make better sense?
For the record, I've noticed that when we (me & SO) were more diligent about caliper measurements, my skinfolds would go up shortly after resuming exercise and down when I was not training for a while.. this is plain subcutaneous water retention.. this also influences BIA-readings.
If the subcutaneous layer would not get thicker due to better protection there's still other factors influencing increased/decreased skin caliper thickness.
This was my first heavy workout in my Vibrams. My feet are hurting. I got a bad cramp at one point and my toes are feeling really stiff right now.
While we were at the fitness comp last Saturday, we talked about fitness and the events. I predicted bad things on a few events, and Galya said "Well, we don't really train for fitness." I suppose that's true. She's been rehabing and I just want to be pretty. A far cry from my Ross Enamait inspired "fitness" levels of two summers ago... I'm leaner than back then, but burpees and sprints kill me pretty quickly.
I'd like to be more fit AND since my log name actually mentions "fitness," it's time to get things back on track.
I do like the gym, so I'm keeping gym time intact. Two days a week.
I like the backyard and the sandbags, DBs, Medballs, TRX, etc, so Saturday or Sunday I'll be back there still.
Need more condititioning workouts, like sprints, circuits, db swings, complexes, etc.
Time to write up the program and stick with it.
BTW, the next CFC is posted. Gotta practice! CFC EVENT THREE; August 15, 2009; Santa Monica, CA

Espi, my Tanita is a piece of junk. The bioimpedance device at the gym gives me 9%, too. It's one of those handheld things with the two handles that you grip.
Okay, I've been doing the butt to the wall thing, but could you remind me the other ones? I know the downward dog thing... Maybe it would be easier to tell me over the phone. I can call you on Tuesday sometime. It would be nice to chat, too.
Miss you, too. Wish the summit was longer so we'd have had more time.
Dude! I can't remember shit if I don't write it down ... I know one was the pivot around your hip thing ... some neural flossing -- femoral and/or sciatic? I can't remember ...
Sorry I didn't see this in time for Tuesday ... Lots of shit going on right now at home ...

congrats on the decision to pursue an increased level of fitness!!!! of course, you know I think you should add a bit more running, but I am biased. ed has actually become quite addicted to our rowing machine, and is quickly building some fitness of his own. how are the vibrams treating you?
Hope you don't mind, but I've learned that dropping Roland's name around here gives you instant street cred.
Fo' shizzle. I told the girl at the Trader Joe's checkout that Roland and I were buds, and she totally rang her bell three times to bring over a manager (who was also her third cousin's former roommate) and told him to hook me up, so now I have a lifetime pass to go into any Trader Joe's store in the country. And I can bring a friend. For free.

ROFL!!! I'll have to remember that trick...
Roland, I did my first real weight workout yesterday in my Vibrams also. (All my recent workouts have been more cross-training/circuit stuff.) Almost fell on my butt warming up for squats!!! Once I got the hang of it. no problem. No foot soreness, but I did notice a difference in almost every exercise, and a slight cramp here and there. I figured I'll get used to it...
Also, FYI, do not kick heavy bag wearing Vibrams! Or at least if you do, do it right. LOL!
Each of those events is on a different day, right? For recovery?
You should dominate on the KB snatches, given your numbers here in the log with the DB snatches.
I hope, but I'm going to have to practice that style... A 40lb DB Snatch, over and over again for reps. That's back to endurance.
I'm going to practice some today!

By the way, you will smoke them on the snatches, keep training.
The get ups with bag are a good reason for you to get the Czech bag ready.
I am so excited for you.
Thanks, babe. I'll get practicing with the bag, today!

I'm the same way. I did write it down, then lost it.
There was also the nerve technique that could help with the cramping. I'll call.

Vibrams feel awesome. Two gym workouts done in them. Both good. Got some weird looks, but no one's asked anything about them. I will try sprinting in them later this week, I hope.
He's thinking of making his own TRX system and I told him you would be great for some workout tips.
Hope you don't mind, but I've learned that dropping Roland's name around here gives you instant street cred.

Well, when I go to TJ's, they give me free coffee and make me a snack. Come with me and I'll hook you up.

It took about a week to get used to them, but now it's great and I don't notice them at all.
I have noticed that they feel like they'll fly off! That used to happen to my Vans in middle school. In fact, we had Van kicking contests to see who's could fly the farthest!
Catching up again...the couples fitness looked like so much fun...got me thinkin... The vibrams are so awesome for DL's! Definitely getting some looks in the gym too! I'm surious to hear how they were sprinting...
D1, Sled Pulls/Backward (4 lengths of yard)
D2, Sled TRX Presses (2 lengths of yard)
Here's my stuff, including the "new" duffel bags.
This is my Belgian Army duffel bag.
Wheelbarrow sled filled with my misc heavy stuff (medball, dumbbells, extra plates, etc.) TRX, cinder blocks, and the nylon rope attached to tree (for TRX attachment).

roland, I know exactly what you mean. I had such an experience with a locally grown mango. the experience reminded me of how my crack addicts describe chasing their initial crack high.
The neighbors only ever look if I drop a heavy bag over and over or smash the medicine ball. or if I do sandbag carries down the street, of course.
My feet are loving the Vibrams, by the way. I wear them all the time on the weekends. The workout on grass was good. Barefoot is pretty slippery on grass with the sled and trx. Vibrams are a good add.
I risked a second plum and came out ahead! This one was even better and juicier than the first one. score...
Oh yah...it's summer...time for good fruit! I ordered a pair of black vibrams from a local store, since they were out of stock on the site! I'm trying to convince my other half that they're awesome...but...he still doesn't believe me. *sigh* You can lead a horse to water....

I gave up trying. Now, I just relish embarrassing her in public when I wear them

Heh...yeah I think I did that yesterday when from behind us we heard..."look at her feet...those are AWESOME!" I of course had to stop and tell them more...Vibram should be paying us don't you think???
I get so many questions it's not funny. However, it becomes easy to tell the people who are just "huh, interesting" and the people who might ACTUALLY be interested. They've been around long enough now that many people have heard of them, and I get more questions from people who are considering it and just aren't sure it'll work for them.
This guuuuge guy about knocked me off the stepper I was using for my 70 lbs step ups because he wanted to show his amazement at my shoes. "Lookit my shoes dude, but keep your hands off me, damn..."
