Never tried GHRs before but they look like an awful lot of work. Congrats on 25.

Thanks. I'm really sore from them. Probably should have stopped at 23 or 24 or maybe 20. But, I had a goal... Which was 20... Should have stopped and stuck to plan, but it was exciting to still have steam in me.

And Jill's video had nothing to do with it?

Huh? Video? What video?

Tonight's workout

A, Squat, 6x4, 235/245/245/235/235/235

B1, Power Shrugs, 3x8, 155/175/175
B2, H2L Woodchop, 3x8, 100/100/110

C1, Chinups, 3x8, 190+20lbs
C2, DB Side Raise, 3x8, 60/65/65

D1, GHR, 3x8, +10lbs (behind neck)
D2, EZ Bar Curls, 3x8, 60

I was still sore from the last GHRs, but I took the ol' "work through the soreness" approach. The first time I lowered myself down, it was scary, like I was plummeting to the ground! But, I painfully slowed my decent and survived.

I woke up last night with UNBELIEVABLE leg cramps. The top/inner quad. Yet stretching it was not much of an option, because that relaxed other muscles (hamstrings) and then they cramped, too! Then, my calves started to cramp up.

I was moaning and screaming to the point where the cats took off and hid from me.

In the end, I was pale and quivering. Sweating heavily even. I felt like I was going to pass out and vomit from the pain and struggle to control/relax my muscles mentally.

I've had a terrible night.

I drank a ton and had some potassium rich foods. I need to go get some magnesium. Apparently, that's a factor more than potassium is. I did not know that.

It still hurts.

I've had something somewhat similar happen to me, but it was in both legs, though I think it was the hamstrings and calves that cramped up. Still very painful. Glad to hear the worst is over though, they can put a hurt on ya mighty hard.

I had that happen last week when I was trying to get on the bus. Got hit by cramps in my calves after my workout. NOT Fun.

Bummer on the cramps ... I thought that they'd pretty much gone away ... hmm?

Sorry I never got back to you about stuff to stretch out your hip flexors ... other good stretches to help with squats ...

Combo quad stretch/hip flexor stretch (in half kneeling, bring heel of back leg up to butt, then "lunge" forward) ... Lisa~ has a picture of this somewhere ...

And the Spokes on the Wheel stretch can help too ...

Nice job on the GHRs too ...

Do you mean this one?

That spokes on a wheel stretch is really interesting! Kinda sexy too.

I would recommend NOT doing the spoke-of-the-wheel stretch at the gym. Save that for home.

Yes, it's best to let people who know where you live see an alligator with a pizza box and the duck that escapes certain peril...

I'm sorry - I know there's a point to this picture, but I seem to have forgotten it...

Sorry about the cramps. At least you know they're not menstrual.

Have you had trouble with your legs like that before?

Ya gotta give it to her on the honesty thing, though. Most of us would have said that we dragged our feet around on a cardboard box and let slide the details...

Pizza box... tsk tsk

Yes. Those cramps are weeks away yet.

Not like this. I'm getting cramps all over. Pretty much every muscle that I work hard. My calves, hamstrings, quads, fingers (stop it...), forearms, my mouth, etc. Even my toes after a heavy squat day.

A, two handed db cleans, 4x6, 60

B, db hang cleans, 4x6, 75/90/90/100

C1, two point row, 4x6, 75
C2, russian twist, 4x6x2, 15

D1, GHR, 4x6
D2, rope rear delt raise, 4x6, 50/45/45/45

No cramps today, but I can really feel it where the cramps were happening.

And, those GHR really seem to nail the inner thighs. Feels like I used that thigh machine that the chicks dig. The squeeze in one, not the squeeze out one.

Excellent workout.

I did go. Drink plenty of liquid and get more potassium and magnesium.

Also, a different Doctor recommended extra vitamin d, calcium, and magnesium.

Hopefully, all that crap will work.
