I got some of that once, too. Gal said she never saw yogurt like that in bg. Must be a marketing ploy, since people here are clamoring for bulgarian products!
Why is it that I can go ALL DAY without food and do fine -- I even worked out on nothing -- but as soon as I eat, I have to keep eating. Evenings suck for dieting!
Same here. Have gone without food for even over 2 days in the past and felt just fine, just could never stop eating meals for 4+ persons once starting to eat.
This past month I've experimented a bit with various forms of fasting. Fast itself was just fine.. the DOH (Delayed Onset of Hunger) got me full force 2 days later .. a true case of 'fukitol' eating
What size sledge do you use, and do you have a tire, or do you hit something else?

I was talking to what's her name about making yogurt under controlled circumstances and I got the virtual eye roll all the way from Bulgaria. Apparently, they've been making yogurt on the kitchen counter for centuries over there.
I'm looking forward to the greek yogurt in the morning!
Heh heh, most certainly with protein powder and banana, no?

The other day, I went until 5:30pm without food, then ate twice and did fine until bed. My new record. I think it might be something you have to bulid up to. It used to be tough to make it to noon, then 2pm, then 4pm. I don't feel like going the whole day, though. I think this is about my limit.

What? I have no sledgehammer. I want one though. It's a planned purchase. I plan to buy this one. 8lbs.
I'm probably going this route with the tire, so I can have a smaller tire.

No protein powder!
I just had my greek yogurt with some cubed mango. It was awesome. The mango was one of those small yellow ones. Tasted like honey...

If you notice, on the side of many yogurts, a strain named something like lactobacterium bulgaricum. Can't argue with that!
Really. WTF. Coulda sworn you did. Oh well. You are no help to me!
I came across the same Ross Boxing article as well. I am hoping to spend friday getting some new toys together.
Yogurt sounds tasty.

If you are interested in optimizing your fast, my most favourite way of intermittent fasting is a midday fast = break the overnight fast with dates (just like muslims do), eat breakfast w coffee & fish oil at the end.. then resume the fast for another 6 to 8 hrs and eat the next meal somewhere between 4 & 7pm, depending on appetite cues..
Mostly I will have 1 mug of coffee in between , sometimes a serving of fruit, but generally the coffee is enough to tide me over. Interesting is that when I ignore 3-4pm appetite signals, I'll sometimes forget to think about eating until 7-8pm.
Upon which I get to eat 2 meals within a few hours.. wonderful
This is rest days only.. on training days I'll generally train from 11am-noon/1pm and apart from a carb-based drink will have a post-WO meal. The rest remains the same.
This is what I arrived at after having done 2 meals/day 12 hrs apart for 3 months.. just got bored with not eating that long and also noticed maintenance went down too much. Fruit was the first thing I added back in..
Again, skipping breakfast proved to be a disaster.. first thing was that I got very cold but then as the stress builds up, appetite goes away completely and if necessary the fast can be prolonged for more than a day. However, sleeping enough hours is totally impossible and the lack of sleep bites you totally in the ass re recovery. Never again... (and then to think this used to be my spontaneous lifestyle for years! : fast - sleep poorly - be exhausted - eat - recover & grow fatter - fast ... )
Thanks, Espi. I'll keep the options in mind. I haven't had good luck with mid day fasts. Once I've eaten breakfast, it's hard not to eat lunch. Doesn't work well for me so far. Never know...

Cool. Hope you get a good setup! I'm next!
Last night's workout. Forgot to log it.
A1, Incline DB Bench, 70 (3/3/2)
A2, Standing DB Row, 110 (3/3/3)
Skipping breakfast was also easier for me when it comes to appetite control, but stress levels just go up too high on it.. the extreme alertness, irritation , etc. work wonders when it really matters to be stressed to the hilt, but a total overreaction for just an ordinary day.
I'd really recommend reading a book called "Why Zebras Don't Get Ulcers" from Sapolski which is said to be the ultimate book on cortisol (the main stress hormone) and everything related.
So sure, I'd get a bit more hungry when not skipping breakfast, but in comparsion I'm feeling very mellow and provided the right foods are chosen (not too many carbs, yet always a source of fruit and like I said, 2 dates), I'm not very hungry, esp. not with the coffee. If you'd feel a bit hypoglyemic, fruit does help.
Reason for the dates was that it helps to stop gluconeogenesis immediately. My theory is that (morning) cortisol can drive up blood glucose levels so much , that frequently fasted glucose levels would be higher than post-prandial (post-meal) glucose levels. I've taken fasted blood sugar readings often and then got the idea to test after a meal and discovered they were lower than fasted! . Gluconeogenesis does this (liver is turning protein into glucose to keep blood sugars stable).
Sorry, fruit makes me hungry I'm afraid. That won't work...
I'm pretty good on the not being hungry at the moment when I just don't eat in the AM. I'm afraid to think about science. I don't remember science working out so well for Copurnicus, so I'm avoiding it until further notice.
Here's today's workout. It was the opposite of a functional workout.
A, Hammer Strength Lateral Press, 80 (6), 90 (3), 100 (1/1/1), 80 (8/8/8)
B, Chest Supported Row, 90 (8), 115 (4/4/3), 100 (8/8/7)
C, Single Leg Leg Press, 1 45 per side (8/8/8)
D1, Seated and slightly reclined alternating hammer curls, 20 (20/15+2+2)
D2, Diamond Pushups (15/13+2)
I was super sweaty when done, so functional or not, good.

Did you try all those yogurts at the gym yesterday?
I have been trying "Balkan" style yogurt. It's pretty yummy. I have my eyes open for the Greek style still.

Despite Ben's enthusiasm, this may very well be a no cookie zone. Roland will have to make that call.
I can however promise cool shoes.
On the Vibrams: A guy asked me on Thursday what they were for, and if I was going to just wear them, or put them inside another shoe?
