I worked a little late, then headed to the gym. I parked and made the mistake of closing my eyes for a sec and woke up an hour and fifteen later.
I was still pretty sleepy, so I headed home, changed my mind, got a cone from McD's and headed back to the gym, protein shake, and hit it.
A, Rack Pulls, 445 (3/3/3/3/1) - last set was too much to complete
B1, Side Press (L), 50 (5/5/5)
B2, Side Press (R), 55 (5/5/5) - what to do about this? Right is stronger...
C, Seated V-Grip Row to chest, 150 (5), 160 (5/5/5)
D, 1 Leg Leg Press, 135 (5/5/5)
Weird dude at the gym. He was in my space for the rack pulls. He would do his dips a good 25 feet away, then walk into my space envelope (within 5 feet of me). There was no good reason to be that close. Maybe it was cultural? He had a gold bracelet.
THEN, I noticed this... He's 30lbs overweight, plus the bracelet, then the ankle weights (not previously mentioned). This is for dips on the assisted dip machine. I don't know where to start...
Oh, he helped me put a plate on one side for the rack pulls. The first plate on the bar on the left. Why!? He said "I'll help you..." and put one on. It was totally weird. Who does that? I had to delay and time things so he couldn't (wouldn't) keep helping me.

This scenerio totally has me giggling.

On another note, I met up with Chris (kuri) and his wife down on Santa Monica beach. Chris and his partner put on a couples fitness competition on the sand, and it was great fun to watch.
It looked like about 20 couples competed for some fun prizes and bragging rights in this first event. Kettlebells, metabolic circuits, rope climb, rings, obstacle course, pullups, etc. A lot of people in great shape and working REALLY hard to win it.
Afterward (I was just watching, since the other half of my coupleness is still in bg), I tried my hand at the kbs again, climbed the rope a couple of times, and at one good chili burger.
Oh yeah, as I was leaving the parking lot, I swung back around to say hi to the guy in the Headblade car (little Headblade-yellow Lotus). Turned out to be the owner of the company. I just wanted to tell him I loved his product (luckily I'd shaved this morning, too), but he asked me all sorts of questions, and handed me a lot of cool product.
He was there for the kickoff of the Cannonball Run 2009, which was today. That was pretty cool, too (btw). Lots of amazing cars and super rich people, celebrities, sheiks, and sluts.
Squoze in a quick sandbag and medball workout in the back.
Medball Ballistic Deads, 12 - assume the dl position with a medball and LAUNCH it to the sky (get out of the way)
Sandbag shoulders, 12
Medball overhead wall throws, 24
Sandbag Clean and Push Press, 7
Sandbag BO Rows, 9
Medball overhead wall throws, 20
Sandbag shoulders, 8
Sandbag Clean and Push Press, 4
Medball Ballistic Deads, 12
The sandbag has a leak. Every drop results in a cloud of dust, which is cool looking and also means the bag gets slightly lighter as the workout progresses.
You sandbagger you!
Ran 2 miles in my sprints, sub 10 min miles with very low heartrate. Running seems faster and easier in these things. Looking forward to hearing what you think about them
5 or 6 rounds of -- (I wasn't paying attention and forgot to count rounds properly)
A, Hills sprint up a steep grass hill -- walk down
B, 10 pushups
C, between leg mb throws up the hill -- I need names for these

I needed shoes with grip for grass, so I put on my old shoes. They suck now that I'm used to a lot less heel.

ROTFLMAO!
I am so jealous you were in SM yesterday. Raining yet again here in Portland. Arrrrrghhh....

I'm experimenting a little bit. I'm using whole milk, rather than 2%. I'm making two batches. One with the starter from the last batches (originally started from a Greek yogurt that was pretty tasty) and the second batch is from a new yogurt that I picked up today. This one had different cultures on the label, so maybe it will be somewhat different. We will find out...
Also, I started them at around 100 degrees, rather than 120 degrees. Oven with lightbulb, but not heated first.
The last two batches were good, but I'm not 100% good with the texture, which was pretty soft and not exactly smooth.
30 minutes of steady state. 20 on the treadmill, 15 incline, 3.0 mph, the rest on the cycle.
Just ate a huge bowl of sauteed veggies and sausage
6oz spicy chicken sausage, sliced into rounds
1 orange bell pepper, slivered
2 small anaheim peppers, slivered
1 green mango, slivered
1 tsp coconut oil, squirted
flake sea salt from just off the coast of Atlantis

I've got a headblade, but the Altra razors that it uses cut me up like crazy. Do you use a different razor? I've gone back to using a Mach-3.

I'm using the adapter for the other cartridge (black adapter). I can't remember the brand that I bought. Sensor-3, I think. It's working pretty well.
I turned my adapter and blade around so I pull instead of push the blade. You just have to make sure you don't swing it around, which could slide the blade laterally and cause a slice. So far it's MUCH better for me.
Make sure you also turn the adapter. It seems to subtly change the blade angle so it's not too steep.

Batch one (my 3rd generation since the original Greek yogurt) is a little better. I think. A little thicker, but not totally consistent in the texture. It's pretty tangy.
Batch two (my 1st gen from a "probiotic" yogurt (with 4 active cultures!)) is thinner, but more mellow tasting.
I'm making some Greek yogurt from the batch two stuff right now.
I noticed my batch one stuff is thicker than the first two batches, the only difference being the lower temp and the whole milk. Is one of these the difference or is it mutating from generation to generation?
my $ is on mutant beasties - but what do I know - I've only made yogurt in microbio class and our incubator was pretty reliable -
I was talking to what's her name about making yogurt under controlled circumstances and I got the virtual eye roll all the way from Bulgaria. Apparently, they've been making yogurt on the kitchen counter for centuries over there.
I'm looking forward to the greek yogurt in the morning!
