silly Ben - you do fish in the dishwasher (top rack only) - it's grilled cheese on the engine block
Rabbit trail alert:
Just wondering how many here have actually tried cooking in the engine compartment while they drive?
We have attempted hot dogs and other simple foods on occasion when taking long trips in Texas during the summer -- it's never worked. We just got warm food that smelled suspiciously like exhaust.
Today's a higher eating day for me. Not that you'd know it, so far... Just 1/8th cup half and half, two small tacos, a very few chips/nachos and a 20g protein drink.
I had a planned workout, with TRX and bodyweight stuff, ending with sled work, but this wasn't it. I almost started it, then winged the whole thing with fun stuff.
My goal of the higher eating days was to do some conditioning related lifting, so I did. Grabbed the backyard tools and went at it.
A1, DB Snatch, 60 (6/6/6) - each side
A2, MB Slams - with all my might (12/12/12)
B1, Single Arm Overhead Walking Lunges, 30 (12), 15 (12/12) - the 30 killed, so I got more realistic.
B2, Powerovers (12/10/10)
B3, DB Row - free hand on knee, 60 (12/12/12)
C, Sled Pulls - sled filled with misc stuff, around 120?, 4 round trips
D, Sled Push - sled filled with a lot less misc stuff, around 40?, 4 round trips
During B, I thought I might die. It was really, really hard. I'm not as conditioned as last summer. Not by a long shot.
C was cool. D was soooo hard. I tried it after seeing some of the Prowler videos, and my God it was hard. I've used my sled for a couple of years and love it, but never pushed it before. OMG. When people say sleds are hard and Prowlers are brutal, believe it. They aren't exaggerating, usually. I just collapsed after a few of the pushes.

Did you know there's even an entire cook book for this purpose?
Too bad for you that is one is in Dutch entirely. It's by a Belgian writer who loves travelling by car and wrote this very special combination of travel cook book with dishes made on the engine.
This was done on an old model of Toyota (a Celica ST for the experts).
The book has 50 recipes, lots of very interesting travel tales and is chock-ful of pictures. But like I said, all in Dutch. Fun detail, both cooking time as well as the distance needed for a preparation is listed.
If you want to just buy it for pix .. :
ISBN 978-90-209-3754-9 is the code for it.
Name "Motorkoken voor beginners" by Bob van Laerhoven & Olivier Elen
Hmmm roadkill, I'm almost dead certain that before I moved into my current home, one of the cook books (nearly all of them got stolen as well as half of the towels in a grab-what-you-can theft out of the truck) was about cooking roadkill.
Never done either of those ...
The yogurt was very soft. It tasted good, but I'm hoping it firms up in the next few days.

Seriously!
My feet are a little sore today. I did the whole workout in my bare feet. It's not too bad, but it's surprisingly hard to grip grass with bare feet to push a sled full of heavy things.
I'm thinking of getting some Vibrams soon. I'm not sure about my PF, though. I have no real symptoms anymore AND my feet feel a lot better after days in Chucks vs workdays in dress shoes with heels.
I'm still wearing the arch supports, too. Vibrams would be arch supportless. What to do?
You could get them, try them, and if they don't work return them.
I'm guessing if you can manage some time barefoot, you can manage. They're better than barefoot for me in part because of the slight "cushion" the rubber gives, and the grip is a dream. For instance, they easily can tack on 30 seconds to a plank for me, no kidding, whereas reg sneaks/shoes only give me about 15sec over barefoot.

Did you use powdered milk along with regular milk to make the yogurt? I used to add the powdered milk to make sure it was thick enough. What kind of starter culture did you use?
Backyard workout looks ****** awesome
Re the guilt choosing another shake on a low day, yes, that's how ED people feel, in the beginning. It's dealing with the feeling that's awesome, once you are aware of it. There is power in learning how to overcome these. I think everyone at your level of food control has experienced this.

I'm sure I will. Then it's just choosing the least geeky version. I'm leaning toward the Sprint. In red.
The black ones look like ape feet. If I'm going to stand out, might as well stand out in red, rather than gorilla.

No, just regular milk. I used some plain greek yogurt for the starter.

I'm sore from the backyard stuff.
I did okay on the other days. I'm trying not to make it a challenge to see how long I can go between meals. When I do that, no matter how long it is, I lost. Scheduled is better.
My reds are fine. But I'm a girl with smaller feet, so there's less red and I'm more cute about it. Otto's are the taupe ones, much blendier, most people don't notice he has them unless they notice mine first. I want black classics. Again, being a girl has it's advantages, I doubt they'd look gorilla.

I just got a pair of red Sprints last week. If you're looking to blend in, go with the taupe/putty--the reds are bright and relatively geeky.
I also have the black Flows. Yes, they look a little, well, more, but they're thicker and warmer for cooler-weather use.
Different styles for different uses/seasons.

I saw Greg/Hard Rox's taupe/putty ones (I think that's the colors) and didn't find them particularly blendy. Ben's black ones, either.
I'm more likely to just bold it up and go for the red ones. Partly blending in won't work for me. All or nothing.
Bastards, now you have me all curious about these things!

Keep in mind that we had separate styles. Greg had the Sprints, and compared to the other options, his were blendy. That said, I'm rocking the red Sprints, and I heart them.
