yea, michigan was dominating, but it'll be interesting to see what happens when they play some good opponents (penn, osu). Personally, i think they've shown that they're not a #5 team like people thought they were at the start of the season.

ND is really awful this season.

09/01/07 vs. Georgia Tech TV Notre Dame, Ind. L, 33-3
09/08/07 at Penn State TV State College, Pa. L, 31-10
09/15/07 at Michigan Ann Arbor, Mich. L, 38-0
09/22/07 vs. Michigan State L
09/29/07 at Purdue L
10/06/07 at UCLA L
10/13/07 vs. Boston College L
10/20/07 vs. USC TV L
11/03/07 vs. Navy TV W
11/10/07 vs. Air Force TV W
11/17/07 vs. Duke TV W
11/24/07 at Stanford W

that's the way i think things will pan out for them. 8-4. They haven't even scored an offensive touchdown yet. They don't really have a qb set. it's just totally in shambles.

No I haven't heard much about him actually. . . . you got any info on him? what position does he play? I'm hoping he's a big wideout that can mesh with Mallet for three solid years.

Yeah I agree that ND was pretty damn bad, but hey for a rivalry game like this you never know what to expect. MSU has had some bad teams and then played great games against Michigan. . . you never know.

I agree though that Michigan is going to be iffy against good competition like Penn State, Wisconsin and of course Ohio State. 8-4 sounds about right though, but as a student/fan I've gotta be optimistic . . . LOL

Starting Strength: Workout A

*general warmup
*dynamic warmup (4 moves focusing on hip mobility, and scap pushups)

Squat: 200 x 4/4/4

Bench: 135 x 5/5/5

DL: 215 x 4 (+ 5 lbs)

Notes

* I'm battling a pretty good cold so even though I didn't improve much I'm pleased with how I fought hard through this workout. I needed a gut-check especially after this past Friday.

* Level performance on squats was to be expected considering I hadn't lifted since last Wednesday. . . I'm not counting Friday

* I lowered the weight on bench because I was just not pleased with how I was doing them. I'm happy to say that I figured out how to actually grip the bar, something that seems so basic. . . . JEEZ! My bench should go up now.

* DL. . . . . . . ehhh. Not bad, I'm trying my hardest to nail my form on these. . . . probably would have nailed all 5 reps but I was gassed even more than usual at this point due to my cold.

* Lots of sleep is on the agenda tonight and tomorrow after class.

I'm probably 75% over my cold, but I should be good to go this afternoon when I hit the gym around 4-ish. I'm not as bad as Monday so I'll be making some progress.

Starting Strength: Workout B

*dynamic warmup*

Squat: 200 x 5/5/4 (+2 reps)

Press: 100 x 5/4/3 (+5 lbs)

Row: 95 x 5/5/5

Notes

- good, hard workout. . . . squats are becoming an absolute killer for me. It's almost as if in itself squatting 3x/week is a big mental challenge. . . . . are you up to it? Its like you go into the gym and you're like shit I gotta squat again!?!. . . .LOL . . . . . This workout has become VERY tough to say the least. . . . I'm humbled!

- Presses were hard. . . .Rows were fairly straight to the point, I'll up those next time maybe to 105. . . . don't know.

- gonna start focusing on dynamic mobility drills in my basement, and add some incline treadmill walking. . . nothing intense, just a little extra activity.

- It's time to chill while dinner is cooking.

thanks man! hope you make some nice progress when you hit it again. . . . I found that if my schedule got off track I couldn't keep consistent progress going. I'm glad that I've been able to stick with a M/W/F approach.

I'll check in with ya tomorrow.

well LIFE has gotten in the way with training the last couple weeks. It happens, but I feel absolutely rested, it might have been a good thing. I had been hammering at it for quite some time. My strength has probably gone down a bit, but with some big eating and a serious attitude in the gym I'll catch up to where I was pretty quick I think. . . . I'm ready!

just thought I'd let everybody know I'm still around.
