As it should be. Excellent! As RL said, that will continue to serve you well.

Paula - kudos to you for posting pictures. You're holding yourself accountable, and that's a great step in the right direction.

I think I did the circuits in about 15-20 minutes. I wasn't timing it when I did them (although that was my intention). I'll start timing when I can get all five done.
I suddenly feel like a nap. I think the circuits are catching up to me (or it's the fact that I'm not stuffing my face with food today).

Just got off the phone with Bob a bit ago.... Things are not looking good for his father. Essentially what is going on is fluid is leaking into his lungs because 1) his heart can't pump efficiently any more and 2) his blood is so high, it's forcing water out of capillaries and into the lung sac. The CAT scan showed another liter and half of fluid in his lungs and they had to basically put a needle in his chest to draw all of it out (it's less invasive than a shunt) and it's only been a couple days since the last time they did this.
There are only really two options for Bob's dad right now - putting talc in his lungs which will essentially act as a coffer dam and keep the fluid isolated. Or they feed him a bunch of diuretics to get the water out that way, and he is reacting to just about everything they are giving him at this point. They are going to evaluate him to see if he can go to triumph at this point.
Bob told me tonight that he feels like the time is going to come very soon where he has to sit down with his mom and dad and say "We can either a) go to hospice while dad still has all his faculties and have them help manage the process or b) we can do this ourselves and when dad loses his mental faculties, mom is left with the decision. He told me tonight its just a matter of time before he has this discussion with them. It's really tearing him up to have to watch his dad make the decision about dying.

Paula, sorry to hear about Bob's dad. That's a tough position to be in for him. My heart goes out to your guys.

It really is a hard position to be in because there's essentially nothing I can do to make it better for him. All I can do is be there and listen.

Indeed, that alone helps a lot, even if it doesn't seem like much.

This morning's torture, er I mean workout
WU
5 minutes elliptical
Lunges
Side Lunges
Inch worms
Squats
WU - 1x8xBW
1x5x50
1x5x60
2x5x70
I was feeling really good by the last set of squats and getting nice and deep. Almost made me wish this came at the end of the workout instead of the beginning. Maybe I need to work on warming up a little longer. I was awfully stiff this morning.
Incline Bench
1x5x50
1x5x60
1x5x70
1x5x80
Deadlifts
1x5x70
1x5x85
1x5x95
1x5x110
Crunches
3x8xbw
Short and sweet and I was hogging the squat cage again. The funny thing was watching my VP twirl away on the elliptical (she was there when I got to the gym and on the elliptical the entire time- reading while she churned away and I got done before she did!). I caught her watching me lift several times.
There were more people in there this morning. lots of women on the machine.
I really hope I start a trend

Nice workout, and way to show by example what real lifting can do. Once they see your progress I'd not be surprised if some come up to you and start asking questions...

Do you stretch after your workouts? It might help with the LOLS (Little Old Lady Syndrome)
