Ha! Don'tcha know, it takes THREE cats to make for crazy old catpersonhood?

My siamese cat occasionally opens doors too... the other one just acts like a dog. I think I'm going to get him a harness and start taking him for walks. He is THAT adaptable.

Personally, I love sleeping with my cats--they both are pretty snuggly. They're also both short-haired, and I groom the piss out of them. I bet I leave more hair on the pillow than they do.

Total thread hijack, Paula, sorry....

Simba will be an only kitty. Any more than that is too much for me to handle.

I've decided I want to set a squat goal for the end of the year..... I think it would be a good way to end the year. I want to want to lift 155. 155 is the magic number. It represents my original goal of weighing half of what I started this journey three years ago (310). But to be able to squat that a year after I started lifting weights... I would be happy.

Stay the course....4lbs could be a result of just getting hydrated and letting go of the stress of the "move" in any case the numbers are going in the right direction...

155 may be low...just saying you are stronger than you think.

Lifting did not happen this evening. I spent the afternoon running to the bathroom due to Montezuma's Revenge and AF was kicking ass and taking names today. After work, I went to Ikea and picked up a bookcase for the new place and a couple of chairs; I ran to League City and picked up a basket of laundry that I left over at my old place (I have possession of that until the end of the month) and then stopped by half price books on the way home.

Mom is in the hospital. She went into dialysis this morning and her blood pressure was really low (80/50) They've got it back up to 93/50 but they don't know what's going on. She was at least lucid enough this morning to tell them that if they have to take her anywhere she wants to go to Des Moines and not Mason City.

I'm at work now, but am wondering if I am going to need to make a trip home to Iowa this next week. This is the note my sister sent right before she called me.

Quote:
When she went to dialysis this morning, she didn’t even start because her blood pressure was extremely low (80/50) Right now it is 93/50 per the nurse. She had experienced some pain in her arm earlier, but that seems to have stopped for now. I did talk to her and she sounded lucid and even cracked a joke...but sounded tired as well. Sharon is also very sick and in pain, so there is not a lot she can do. She called her friend Sue H to take Mom to the hospital because she couldn’t herself. She has called Harold, but he didn’t answer. I am assuming she left a message for him.

At this point a couple of doctors have seen her and they have started doing bloodwork. Still no word as to what is going on. Plan is to spend tonight and tomorrow getting the apartments whipped into shape (need to finish cleaning up one and getting the rest of the stuff organized in the new one) so that if I have to make a trip, I don't come home to a mess.

Mom was released this afternoon and then readmitted. She got home and got sick and ended up throwing up blood. They aren't sure what's going on at this point. When I talked to my sister this afternoon they were going to try and see if she had an ulcer or something. Then they were going to transfer down to the hospital near my sister. My brother is supposed to be there something tomorrow.

Mom Update:
They got her down to Des Moines this evening. Evidently they've been pumping a water solution into her stomach to help it heal and they've cleaned out a lot of dried blood from the Ulcer (this is what they are pretty sure is causing the problem). She is in ICU. They are doing blood tests every 6 hours and in the morning plan on scoping her if there is no change in her blood pressure.
