Good day, Paula!.

I do them in the Ladie's room at work sometimes. It's a rather large room with a great big empty wall. Good thing no one can see me!

Oh.... okay... I know about it, but since I don't have a TV it's probably not as stuck in my head as it is in others.
HELL Day 4
Wide Stance DL (70 seconds rest)
1x15x65
1x15x65
1x15x65
(Holy Hell this was hard)
Static Lunge SS w/ (60 Seconds rest between each superset)
1x10X5s
1x8x5s
1x9x5s
(I have a ways to go on these. They're suppose to be 3x20. I don't think I would have done much better BW only)
Bentover BB Rows
1x12x65
1x12x55
1x12x55
DB Press (palm facing in)SS W/ (60 seconds between SS)
1x12x20s
1x12x15s
1x12x15s
Standing Calf Raises
1x15x55
1x15x65
1x15x75
1x15x75
(I did an extra set of these.... discovered that 55 was too light tho out of it.)
Planks Goal 60 seconds
1x25
1x20
1x20
15 minutes of aerobic activity that included a walk to the club house. a couple minutes on the stairmaster (which sounds seriously sick) and the 7.5 minutes on the Exercycle that didn't sound much better. Then I walked back to the house.

Paula,
What are you doing for PWO with the weight days?
I was reading Leigh's blog and am confused about it. She says if training HARD (which I am guessing her H.E.L.L. Weight days are), to have 2:1 ratio of a high glycemic simple carb (2) and a fasting acting protein like whey (1) in a shake form immediately following workout. No Fat.
My confusion comes in because I thought the only carbs in H.E.L.L. came from fruits and veggies? I desperately need to lose fat and not sure what to do (except start the program!) I was planning to have a protein shake and apple PWO but maybe I am thinking wrong? I would not want to do a simple sugar if it impeded fat loss.
Also left you a PM....You are doing awesome with this so far!
So I figured I would ask you what you are doing in regard to PWO? I start H.E.L.L. tomorrow

Good lifts Paula - how do you feel regarding your nutrition and how it's supporting your workout plan?
As a side note, maybe Leigh should have her own subsection for Hell...

Hi!
I did get your PM but didn't have time to answer it.
I generally have a chicken breast and an apple post workout. It's something I can carry with me and works well since I have to go straight from the gym and have to get on the bus. Honestly I worry more about the overall macros than I do what happens when.
The good news is I'm down from 259 to 255.6. I'm very pleased with those numbers. I am going to have to work on my weekend nutrition because I am more apt to wing it on the weekends.

I feel good about how the nutrition supports the activity. Like I mentioned above, I tend to worry more about the big picture than I do the minute details. There have been days when I have forgotten protein right after the workout. but I do try and cut myself some slack since I know I just started. I refuse to accept the OMG I have to quit because I didn't do XYZ! mentality.
The two things I need to work on are
1) not so much winging it on the weekends - this has always been hard for me to do. When I'm at work its much easier for me to maintain an eating "schedule".
2) Getting the ratios for the various training days down. This one will come with time as I get into the routine.

The good news is that HELL is paying off. Down from 259 to 255.6 - 3.4 lbs gone and the info from Bob's scale says fat percentage has dropped down too.

I am off to nap. HELL has taken it's toll on my ass.
Tom one other thing, I do have to stop myself sometimes from buying stuff sometimes because it's not part of the plan.... We have these things in Texas called Kolaches which are basically a sausage link with a bit of cheese wrapped in white bread. They are one of my favorite on the go breakfast foods - I had to remind myself yesterday that I couldn't stop and have one because they aren't part of the plan.

Yeah, any time my nutrition plan doesn't allow kolaches, I call it H.E.L.L.

Made it through 2 rounds of aerobics drills before I couldn't jump any more (my legs are officially fried). Moved on to mobiltiy drills and stretching. Those went pretty good and felt okay. Don't have access to an elliptical here on the weekends (complex "gym" doesn't have that) so I hopped onto the stepclimber and did 3 minutes. honestly that's all I had at this point. I'm glad that tomorrow is rest day.

Thanks
Paula,
Thanks for letting me know what you do PWO. I think I will stick with what I planned. Either do BCAA's right after and an hour or so after that have a compliant meal of protein/veggie or protein/fruit.
Wow, you are doing awesome with your losses already! I hope you enjoy your rest day, you sound exhausted!
Great job passing up that kolaches. I have never heard of that. My hardest will be as I sit and eat my thing and hubby has his pizza, cereal, etc since he is totally a junk food junkie. The worst will be desserts since that is my downfall and when I eat clean for awhile I can totally smell sugar anything in the air from a distance! He told me he will give up anything sugar for my first 30 days, at least around me!
No biggie on the pm, you don't even have to answer it. I will follow along here and your blog. I know the sunbutter is a no no, I just have to figure out a better way to up my fat!
Have a great day!
