Thanks all! I've passed on your kind wishes. We both really appreciate them. It's tough when there's no fix and all one can do is try to manage the problem....She'll always have to deal with it. Kind thoughts, concern and encouragement mean a lot.

September 7
Yesterday was a rest day for me. I spent most of it working with my wine in progress and I did get a 2.5 mile walk in.
Today I should have started my last round of the TT August KB/DB/BW Fusion Workout, but those plans were waylayed. It was nice out just before dawn when I went out to get the paper, so I thought I'd get a short run in before it got hot. Well, my short run ended up as a 10 miler (1:15:30....7:33 min/mile).
Shouldn't have done that....my legs just aren't up to TT now.

Well, I was in high school and college during the era of "If it feels good do it" (among other things). I never did really subscribe to that, but lingering elements of that era apparently surfaced early in my run yesterday. It felt good....It felt easy....The day felt fresh...I had the energy....I did it.

Seotember 8
August TT DB, KB, BW Fusion Workout A - 4th and final round
The work out starts with two sets of the following as warm-up
Prisoner Squat – 10
Pushups – 8
Reverse Lunge – 8/leg
Spiderman climb – 5/side
and is followed up with 3 sets of the the following supersets (Each superset is repeated 3 times before moving on to the next superset; 30 sec rest between 1A and 1B with a 60 rest between repeats....No rest between 2A & 2B or 3A & 3B) –
1A) 1 leg squat w/ KB or DB - 6/leg (6,6,6 - 45 lb dbs)
1B) DB incline press – 8 ( 8,8,8 - 50 lb dbs)
2A) 1-leg RDL w/KB or DB - 10/leg (10,10, 10 - 45 lb dbs)
2B) DB or KB Row – 8-12/arm (12,12,12 - 50,50,45 lb dbs)
3A) DB or KB Squat – 20 (20, 20, 20 - 50 lb dbs)
3B) Decline Push-up – 20 (20,20,20)
Some gains. I'm, once again, particularly happy with my progress with the decline push-ups......All 60 of them this time!
Then, intervals.........
5 min Warm-up jog at very easy pace followed by 5 intervals of -
45 sec run
60 second speed walk
and wrapped up with a 5 min cool down swim to neighbor's pier and back.
Now I need to start prep for tomorrow's bottling of Green Apple Riesling.

Damn fine workout Egham - it might be interesting to try it with the kb's if you have them to see what the variations are.

Nice run! ANd workouts, too. And good news on the Mrs.
You're missing out on so much age group race bling by not entering. Don't you want a nice coffee mug or plate?

Wow...Thanks everyone.
My real pushup challenge will be later this week....I'll do workout B this afternoon and workout C, to wrap up this program on Friday (unless the hotel has DBs). Workout C is what I dubbed "Push-up Hell" when I started this program and I really did not think that I'd ever get to the point where I could do all of them...Regular pushups, block pushups, T-pushups and close grip elevated pushups...for a total of 181. However, I've made steady progress over the past month and, after last week's run through this workout, I actually think I might be able to do them all this time around......We'll see.
Dave> I just can't get excited about it, and now I have a local friend who has started running regularly and loves to race. He's working on me too. Maybe someday.
Coffee mugs....? I have about 4 cases of them from my years as a Scout leader stashed in the rafters of the garage. Our cabinet is full of mugs we've collected in our travels......There's no more room for more....Don't need mugs, plates or t-shirts...Why bother?
