You've been a busy man! 2K4, huh? How do you like it so far?

Good to see your keeping the workouts up -- that can be hard when you're out of town.

Just a quick check-in tonight, I'll try to catch up on everybody's logs tomorrow.
We returned home last night and have had an extremely busy day. Among other things, I bottled a 30 bottle batch of Pinot Noir and racked the Orange Chocolate Port to a clean 3 gal jug. Both are already very good and should be excellent with a bit of aging.
I did manage daily workouts (except for yesterday) alternating TT 2K4 with TRX Military Manual workouts and jump rope practice (I still get tangled up in that thing far too often). Eating was good, except for the reception on Tuesday night....
This week is going to be pretty busy...I came home with three more requests for work proposals (More billiable hours likely!) and I have a small job to finish up by Friday. And next Saturday, we're heading to the beach for a week. Can't wait.....Beautiful beach - water will still be warm enough, great food, Charleston, bicycling and running on the beach..... I'm ready.

I haven't found 2k4 anywhere near as vigorous as the TT August workout, even with pushing the weight loadings and doing the intervals immediately afterwards. While I kind of miss that totally wiped out feeling I had with the August TT workout, this one is probably better for working more of Ross' stuff in. I'll work hard on that this week while I'm home.

Thanks, Lance. It can be hard. Fortunately the hotel had an independent gym on premises and I had breaks either mid-morning or mid-afternoon each day, so things worked out pretty well this trip. I did manage my every other day TT workouts and TRX workouts in between.

I left the hotel only once during the course of the meetings......My client's organization sprang for a reception at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Lots of old Beatles, Beach Boys, Stones....and lots more.....stuff. All free and with great food, beer and wine on premises. That was kinda cool.

TT 2K4 Workout A #4
3 times through each superset, no rest between A & B, 60 second rest before repeating..
A1: Underhand seated row – 5 (120lb: 5,5,5) @ 120
A2: DB Low-Incline Press – 5 (50lb DBs: 5,5,5)
B1: DB Row – 8/arm (501b DBs: 8,8,8)
B2: DB Close-grip Flat Press -8 (45 lb: 8, 8,8)
C1: DB Triceps Extension -6,8,12 (30 lb: 6,8 25lb:12 )
C2: DB Incline Curls – 6,8,12 (25lb DBs: 6,8 20lb DBs: 12)
Finisher: I finally used my new sandbag! Carried 75 lb sandbag around yard until could not hold it one more second. I left my watch indoors, so unfortunately don't know how long it actually was.....Felt like forever, but unlikely more than just a very few minutes. Next time.......All 100 pounds!
Intervals: Went in and got my watch......3 minute jog warm-up. 30 second run, 60 sec slow jog repeated 5 times for a total of 6 intervals. 5 min progressive cool-down.
I've had enough for now.

I hope 2k4 doesn't make you feel too under-challenged. Just remember Mahler's rule...Always finish a workout program, no matter how much you don't like it!

I guess I'm just used to full body workouts and 2K4 is pretty much a split approach. Today's workout did a job on my arms and chest, but my legs didn't much notice. Workout B fries my legs, but the rest of me just doesn't feel like it's done much. Perhaps I'm into full body pain...every time.
I will finish.
No, I haven't named her yet. I can already tell that if I ever do, it might not be something very socially acceptable. Any suggestions?

More sandbag and sledgehammer fun -
75 lb Sandbag Shouldering - 50 reps 7:23
100 Sledgehammer swings - 3:02
Followed by 15 min moderate-effort swim in the lake. The water's cooling down, but still a very swimmable 80 F.
It took a few sand bag shoulderings to get into the swing of it. Once I did, they went fairly rapidly....until about rep 35. By 45, I was glad I didn't start at 100 pounds my first time out. There will be more of these in my future.

This sounds fun - especially swimming in the lake rather than a pool

I like the workout! I think I'll need to try something like that as a mixer in my workouts.

Wow...I'm jealous. I want a sledgehammer too! Nice workout Egham! Is here name "Load" because you were listening to The Band while you were workin' out? You may want to name her "Miss Fanny" instead.
