Tracey! You are so sweet to remember about my mom's appointment!! I am home and exhausted. No chance of my intended workout tonight. It was a good appointment in that I really liked this lady a lot and so did my mom. It was a bad appointment in that my mom did TERRIBLE with the memory tests and, of course, her weight (81.4 lbs today). We did get her off some meds and started on the first of the dementia meds. Then, next month we introduce the next one, and so on.
It was just a very tiring day getting her to the doctors and home!!
Again, thanks so much for asking!
I am glad you liked the lady, sorry to hear about her weight and that she didn't do well with the tests.
I was thinking about you!

I'm so glad that you liked the lady, and your mom did too, but sorry to hear she didn't do so well with the memory tests. Hopefully the new meds will help!

so cute!!! am so bummed I won't see you guys! ed says to tell you he wished he had timed his medical crisis better. the man is doing well but anticoagulating rather slowly, so good thing I took off next week too. I will be doing shots twice a day on him. cant pull up vid in jill's log for some reason. am on my laptop. he is being discharged at 7pm tonight after lovenox shot, so I will check again from home computer.
Oh Jane! So sorry I haven't been in here in a while. Glad that your mom is home, but so sorry that she's still struggling. Interestingly, I think weight loss or anorexia (not nervosa) are early signs of dementia. I had forgotten your struggle with that with your mom. Is she getting any home care services? How is your dad holding up taking care of her?
You look great in your photos ... and I'm totally jealous of your burn!!! On my rest days I burn between 1700-1800 calories ... if I get a good walk in then I'm up more around 2200 ...

Hey, cool pics, nice that you two got together. Sorry to hear that your mothers evaluation didn't go so well. I can't even imagine someone being that weight, oh my. I hope she does well on the new meds. You're doing well yourself though, with those fantastic burn rates! Take care hon.
Well, I should know better....."mom" days always make me too tired to work out. Today is my only carb-load day of the month, and I took full advantage of it. Talk about a refeed! I was whining to my sister the other day that I wasn't going to get any chocolate for Valentine's day, so she gave me a big Dove bar today....dark chocolate with cranberries and almonds. It was DELISH! It was my mom's birthday, so spent the day with family, at too much, cleaned her house. Now, I am home and tired. Just had such a busy week and my workouts suffered. Hoping next week is better.
On the plus side, the scale is treating me real nice, as my eats have been spot on (other than today, and it was planned).
Today, I am doing assisted pull-ups on the hour, every hour.
Glad to hear the scale is treating you well - that makes one of us (more details in my log)!! So you are doing a carb-up once a month?
That's the plan (always subject to tweaking!). I am so close to where I think I want to be, so it's getting harder to make my body let go of this remaining fat. A carb-load seems to jump start things for me. So, back to low carb today, and I won't weigh myself until closer to the end of the week. Things should be back to normal by then. Next carb-load will actually be more than a day, as I will be giving myself a diet break when I am at The Arnold the first weekend in March. BUT, I'd like to be at goal at the end of these next 3 weeks.
Great news on the scale Jane! Sorry to hear about the struggles you're having with your mom. We're having some similar issues with my mother-in-law. We recently hired 2 women to come in (on different days) for 4 hours/day and it has made a world of difference for both her and us. Hang in there.

I'm cracking up at the "Plank w/puppy *IMPOSSIBLE" entry!!
Oh, it was bad!! I did them when I got home from the gym. So, she was all worked up and excited to see me. She was clawing at me and jumping and licking. She completely tore my hair out of my ponytail. It was madness, I tell ya! I have no idea how I did 2 sets of 60 secs. It was work!
