Sorry I too confused your mom's coming home date...but I am so glad it made her beam...must have been nice to see her so happy.
Nice job in your OLY workout...it sounds like so much fun! It's too bad there's no gym at the summit, I would have LOVED to see all you awesome OLY women in real life!
All I have in Powder foundatoin is is Ivory 104 and Ivory 200 in the Timewise. I don't have any of the old stuff. Sorry
If there's anything else you are looking for let me know.

Sounds like a good workout Jane! I don't think I'm too flexible, but I definitely feel like I'm going to fall backwards when I try to squat deep doing snatches (in other words I don't get anywhere NEAR deep enough!)... Maybe I'll try that exercise and see if it helps!

I have the same problem as Bytsi!! Sounds like I need to do that exercise, too!
YAY for Violet doing awesome while you were gone!
Glad to hear your mom is going home soon, but I understand the mixed feelings about it! We went through a situation with my 97 yo grandmother last year. She ended up in the hospital with congestive heart failure, and spent about 4 months back and forth between the hospital and the rehab center. She would start to get better, so the hospital would send her to the rehab center where she would start to make progress, but then have another "episode" and end up back in the hospital. Finally, after being back and forth, she managed to make enough progress to be able to go home - she was soooo happy, but now my mom and my aunt are taking turns staying with her for a week at a time since she really can't be alone. On the one hand it's fantastic that she is home, but I really feel for my mom and my aunt!
Good point, Jill. I haven't yet invested in any lifting shoes, but maybe it's time I do.
I think if you really want to make progress you need a lifting shoe. The sole of the shoe is wood and they have a slight heel so when you're squatting deep to make a catch you can get in a good position and you have stability. Also, notice in my avi that my knees are over feet in my catch...you need to have that ankle mobility to be able to really get under there and catch well (and obviously hip mobility, shoulder mobility, etc). One of my biggest limitations when I first started was lack of ankle mobility and flexibility. I really had to work on that and still do.
Here's a super long article about weightlifting shoes (written by my coach).
Do you mind sharing briefly how you work on ankle mobility and flexibilty?
Thanks for sharing the article!
Lots of stretching. I stretch every night pretty much. I also stretch before i lift. As far as ankle mobility, one of the stretches/warmups I do is in the article. I squat down and place the bar on top of my knees and feel the stretch. I even put more weight on it my pushing down on the bar. Really gets those knees over the toes.
I hate when that happens! I am sure your body was just needing some nutrition after being sick. Its so strange when you eat a food that normally makes you full - but doesn't put a dent in the hunger!
BTW I love reading about the oly lifting. Someday I will find a gym around here and get into it because I am really interested in learning.
Well, if I needed a refeed, I sure got it yesterday!! And, as much as I ate, I NEVER felt full. UGH!
I get that sometimes. I can eat (binge) all day and never get full. After a while, I'm emotional about it, and then it's emotional eating. Which means it only gets worse. I have to either hit the gym or go to bed to stop it.
You guys are just being nice....but, thanks. I truly am feeling like quite the weakling. And, don't even ask me about the chin-up/pull-up because it hasn't happened since. Bleh.
It's ok Jane, you'll get them back! I didn't get my chin-up the 2nd time I tried either... but the time after that it was back... then it decided to hide from me again... it's a strange yet interesting process. Don't worry, it'll be back before ya know it!
Violet's cuteness is just what the doctor ordered!!! My daughter just happened to ask me earlier today if you had any new pictures. Seek and you shall find!
