Thanks everyone!! I am still on a high from those dang pushups, I tell ya! I wish I got to do them again in tonight's workout, but they will have to wait until Saturday!
Yahoo Jane! I too am a graduate from the girly pushups and it feels awesome! No reason you can't do more. I do them every workout in my warmup and superset them in my ab workout. Hey if you can conquer chemistry then you can conquer pushups!!

Good for you Jane! That is the best feeling in the world, doing something you didn't think you could.

Did 2 intervals on treadmill b4 side stitches stopped me. Haven't had those since long ago when I used to run! Good workout tonight.
The cute guy at the gym I have my eye on pulled a muscle doing DB shoulder presses so I didn't have my usual Thursday scenery since he left early to go ice it.
Nutrition is still on 100% since the start of the challenge. Haven't strayed one little bit. I can't wait until measurements/weight/pics on the first. I feel so good!
jane, how do you stay motivated to do your nutrition so well? I need to learn some lessons....
Wendy, this is the competitive side of me. Competition against MYSELF, really. When I set my mind to something, that's it. I am that way with my business, my job, and school. It's just me.
Now, I already know that on February 15, I will ease up. We are celebrating my mom's 75th birthday. And, since she just had the stroke in October, this is a big deal that we are ABLE to celebrate another birthday. So, no bothering with diet on that day! Until then, I just motor on with my nutrition and don't really think too much about it. Like you, I plan ahead and freeze meals and always know what's on deck for the next couple days.
I am good with the meal prep, etc. I think I just need to ratchet down the portions. and I take too many side diversions into thai food, wine, beer, dark chocolate. see stingo's log for details.
Superset Pushup
10 real ones
5 real/10 knee
9 real ones
(Yeah again)
SeatedRow
10 x 55
10 x 55
5 x 55/5 x 50
Superset Step-ups on 20" bench
10 x 7.5's
10 x bw
10 x bw
(took it back down to bw to concentrate on form)
Prone Jackknife
10 x bw
12 crunches
11 x bw
(I could really feel my core/lower back wanting to give out on the first set, so I did crunches the 2nd set. Went back to the jackknifes for the 3rd, but still feeling lower back wanting to give. This really is a great core exercise.)
Spent the day out shopping with my mom and sister. This was the first time out shopping since her stroke, so it was a very good day! And, I passed up warm cherry pie right out of the oven at lunch and homemade chocolate chip cookies at her house! Stuck to TNT completely. I also took over my Bodylastic exercise tubes for my mom. I am hoping to get her doing a bit more because she is so frail (like 85 pounds frail). I showed her some basic moves and I hope she tries them. She seemed interested.
Looks like you're building up momentum in the direction of progress - resisting desserts like that is a great indication you're heading in the right direction.

Greg, Cynic, Tom, Jodi, Diane, Tracey -- thanks for stopping by and for the encouragement! I really am feeling so great and so strong. I think I'm even walking differently. These last 7 months have been such a great learning experience, and this forum has made an immeasurable difference! The last few weeks, in particular, I really feel it coming together even more.
I'm off to the grocery store, now, so I can cook up a storm all day to prepare for the week.

Feeling good tonight. And happy.
Of course congratulations on the workout. However, when I read about your day with your mom, I couldn't help but think about what a wonderful accomplishment it was that despite your mom's limitations you all managed to have such a nice day. It must have also been nice to have her receptive to the exercise bands.
Keep up the good work -- I'm with you on the exercise form.

Thanks for the nice note and for recognizing the day for what it meant to me (and to her, I am sure). It truly was special on so many levels. In fact, I've been dwelling on it since Saturday with such a warm spot in my heart! She's come so far, bless her little heart!

Thanks again!
Does the TNT diet have any diet meal allowance? Seems kind of sad you can't any any of that at all.
However...I did atkins and was very strict about it...lost a lot of weight/fat. I could pass up rice, bread, etc, but ever since trying oatmeal and fruit (that is, oatmeal with fruit) I'm not sure I could do a carb restricted diet again.
Hi Cynic....I am in my last week of Plan A TNT. I'll transition to Plan B, which will allow me carbs pre and post workout. After that I will transition into one of the other plans which will allow me a carb load day (or a cheat day, if you will). I'm just focused right now. To tell you the truth, I've lost all desire for sugar, actually. It didn't bother me at all. Trust me, I had some major sugar to come down from after the holidays!!
Jane, I just wanted to say congratulations on the floor push-ups and the 100% food compliance! That's great and I wish I had your discipline (I can't remember how to spell that). Thanks for all your help, too.

Good workout! I like the 3x10's. I was happy to get the 75 lb DL, but dropped it back a bit for the last set. I want the big wheels!! I'm feeling so good! Now, if only I could come up with something witty for the cute guy at the gym. Why is this the ONLY time I find myself tongue-tied!
Eats still right on target. This is my last week of TNT Plan A. Next week, I will begin adding in carbs pre and post-workout. Tonight's dinner is Shrimp Diavalo (shrimp tossed with red pepper flakes, cooked in olive oil. remove from pan. saute up in same pan a large sliced onion, add a can of chopped fire-roasted tomatoes and some fresh parsely and fresh basil and toss the shrimp back in!)

I'm gonna go with the obvious here and suggest asking him for a spot. Even if a bench press isn't it your workout, it is that day. lol
