Jane, I'm sorry to hear about your mother. I know that it's always something I think about with mine. Especially as she's more active and doesn't always take care. I do hope your mother's surgery goes well, along with her recovery.
Okay I just poked my head in here because I remembered you got Violet.
I'm sorry about your mom's fall and surgery. I hope she heals quickly.
Violet is absolutely the cutest thing I've ever seen. What a face!

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. My mom made it thru surgery pretty well, but she's still really out of it (as of last night). I feel so sorry for her and she seems so sad. Looks like she will be in the hospital/rehab thru the end of the year. Then, I don't know. We'll have to see if she can rehab enough to go home. I don't think so. Which means a very hard discussion coming up with her and my dad that I am dreading. Already tried to touch on the subject with my dad and he freaked on me. I just don't know.....
The restaurant has been bombarding me with phone calls from their liability department....to the point of calling as she was being wheeled into surgery. Really annoying. So, I'm off to meet with my attorney to have him handle all of this. It's really the last thing I want on my plate right now.
The puppy is confused, I think, with me in and out all the time. My neighbor is helping out with her. She's so sweet.....
My diet is crap. And, if anyone wants the definitive answer on whether or not you can lose weight eating crap macros, it's YES. I will be rounding out the year at my lowest weight of the year (and I think my adult life). Not a good way to do it.
OK, so off I go to handle stuff. Will check in soon.
Oh my--poor Jane! I'm so sorry this is such a crappy week. Hey, you're a strong woman, remember what you've accomplished this year, and know that you can get through this too. A good cry and a snuggle with a doggie might help too.
And FYI regarding rehab versus the need for LTC ... see what the therapists say ... and remember that her 100 day count is reset January 1st (under Medicare).

I'm wishing your mom a speedy recovery and you some much needed rest. Take care of yourself as much as you can.
