I left you a little note up in my workout session log......they went much better. Instead of 4 sets of Front Squats, I did 2 sets of Front and then went to 2 sets of Back Squats (another choice for my knee-dominant exercise). I figure I'll keep working on my grip until it begins feeling even more comfortable -- maybe 3 sets Front and 1 set Back next time. I utilized all of your tips, though, and it certainly did help. It is, however, still a difficult position for me. I'm sure, with practice, I will improve.
I think it's a difficult position for most people just starting front squats. It's certainly not easy for me & my arms/wrists, though I do like them. And I have confidence they (like most things) get easier with practice which keeps me going.

are you kidding me? Look how far you have come with pushups -
THAT was an awesome post! LisaS, will you come review my life for me and be my little conscience reminding me where I've come from and where I'm going?! Actually I have a friend like that--we share hubby troubles with each other sometimes, just to talk and encourage, and we always remind each other where we've come from and how much better/close we are nowadays. But true, great job Jane!
Umm... how many years ago was this and where did you live? Because my mother (yet again) used to do the lawn in her bikini when she was newly married and she got her tan that way, lol. I kid you not! (And I'm apparently her clone... so watch out, I may be next!)
When I was in college, my neighbor mowed the lawn in a bikini. Unfortunately he didn't look very good in it.
Wow....you are a super-shopper! Those boots are awesome!! I almost asked again about the swimming too..I'm glad someone else did...I'm excited to hear how it goes...
I say...if some of us make it to summit...there should be a group shopping trip...for all the new clothing/shoes we can wear??

(any excuse to go shopping of course...)
I thought the scent of new shooz would draw some people in here.
Great deal, for sure. I think I'll start posting a deal of the day or week or something like that in my log for people. I do it all the time for my friends/family.
Yes, I am excited and nervous about the swimming....but ready!
And, I'll definitely be at the Summit next year, so count me in.

OK, here's my first official DEAL OF THE DAY post (although the shoe deal above is pretty damn good, too!). I'll start it off with a fitness bargain. Here are some nice tanks (different colors/patterns available) for $9.76. If you've never ordered before, you get 10% off your first order, too:
Just wanted to stop by and say your workouts are impressive! My dad has Power Training and I tried a couple workouts when I was visiting. I really liked that you choose your favorite exercises from the "menu." These workouts are so challenging! I was thinking I don't know how Jane is doing this on reduced calories.
Thanks re: the workouts. I seem to be OK on the calorie deficit...even hitting some PR's. But, I must say, I am looking forward to a week break in a few weeks!!
Hi Jane! Have you ever bought any workout clothes at Lucy or Lululemon? I love the workout pants at Lucy (cooler weather is coming!) The pants come in three lengths (short, regular and tall) and are the most comfortable things in the world. It's also pretty easy to find coupon codes. I recommend the Studio Pant.
Then there's Lululemon. They don't really have an online store so you have to find one locally and they are opening more and more stores in the US lately. Looks like they have one in Columbus and will be opening one in Cleveland soon. EVERYTHING there is cute.

Jane - Love the deal of the day!
Jill - I have heard great things about both of those brands. I may have to track down the store here and check it out. I was just thinking this morning that I am going to need some new workout pants, that fit.

OOH, I like those pants! I actually wore pants to the gym last night because it was so cold here! And, some of the ones from last Fall are too big, so I definitely need some new ones.
I'll be keeping my eyes open for a Lululemon locally....very cute!
Jane, I just had to stop by and say IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not only did I spend a good half an hour of laundry-folding time surfing 6pm.com, but I mysteriously ended up with THESE on my credit card!
I don't understand buying shoes online - how do you know they will fit - how do you know you will like the feel and that they will be comfortable - how do you know you take that size in that style?

It's always a risk--and you can always return them. Although, that's a big pain. I have had pretty good luck--I'm usually a dead-on size 8.5 in everything except where they specify a shoe runs small, then I am usually safe with the 9. I have had shoes that fit okay enough to not return them but probably would have passed if I tried them on in the store.

Welll......I buy sooo many shoes online that I know which styles/brands fit and which sizes I wear. At zappos, all returns are free and shipping is free, so sometimes I"ve just returned them, got another size, returned them, tried again, etc. until I get the perfect pair! It's an art, Lisa.
I'm at the post office nearly every day, so return shipping is never a hassle for me, either, if I should need to do so. The unvelievable deals online for shoes makes it WELL worth it.
hmm, I guess it is size related. I generally measure to a 10.5 - and 90% of women's brands go up by 1/2 sizes till 10 and then skip to 11 - so I either have to go up or down 1/2 size and neither is usually right for both feet. meh.
