You have inspired me to add the 100 push-ups into my regimen. I would love to be able to do at least 25. I can do 10 right now. My goal is also to do a pull-up unassisted around the end of the challenge. Did you do Dos's Power Training during the last challenge? You had awesome results.

Thanks, Bev. I did NROL4W along with TNT from January thru May and then transitioned into PT in June. I also am now just eating at a deficit and have added some carbs back in. Once these last few pounds of fat are gone via the deficit, I will be looking at hypertrophy and upping my calories.

Well, the re-feed seems to have had no ill effects on my weight. Scale is still the same, despite 3 days of upped calories and carbs (Friday thru Sunday). It even seemed to be flirting with 135.5 (My scale only goes in 1/2 pound increments). So, I am expecting that bring the calories back down this week should result in a nice loss kickstart for this week.

The most wild thing happened this morning. I was down in the cafeteria getting some tea this morning watching CNN. The CNN anchor had on the EXACT same shirt that I have on today -- it is very recognizable. What are the odds of that EVER happening!! EXACT SAME SHIRT -- on the same day! And, it's not even a new shirt or anything! Bizarre!

That happened to me once...I was wearing the exact same j.crew sweater as Monica (Courtney Cox) on Friends in the episode. I thought I was sooooo cool because I was about 16 at the time.

Hey Jane! I havent been following your programs, what are your fitness goals? I know you are trying to lose fat, but I wasnt sure if you are following OPT or not. Just wondering what you are doing on the diet front...........and what youre targeting within the what time frame?

gotcha. Are you using FLTS as your guideline (35% deficit)? Any specific program?
I just want to see what others are doing to make sure I am not missing something. I feel so wierd with the "less is more" idea.

Nope, just eating in a general deficit with lower carbs and tracking religiously.

Those are pretty good weights. How are you getting the bar into position? I'm assuming you could use a squat rack. That's where I have to watch it since I'm lifting it up and over before I start.

Jane, do you have an actual fear of the water or is it that you just never learned?
The reason I ask is that I taught swimming for a very long time and used to work with a lot of adults who had fears to overcome ... so I'm just curious.

Julie, I think it's a little of both. When I was little, I fell off of my mom's back when she slipped in a pool going from the shallow to the deep end drop-off. That scared me. Since my mom was a water lover and a big swimmer, she really tried to get me over any fear and I took lessons, but I just refused to do it. As I got older, I played in the water, but I didn't like to go under. Then, eventually, I learned to float. And, I could go under if I held my nose. I even was able to "swim" (and I use that term very loosely) from one end of a pool to the other. More like flailing about! Which I still do. However, I won't jump into the deep end and I still do not like going under water. So, my goals are to get over the going under part and learn some genuine swimming techniques so I can REALLY swim and not flail about.

At this point, my fear really is about deep water. Like if I am out on a boat and I am scared to fall in.

Thanks Jane. Your body rocks too. Your sig is so me too.

I've been following your Coach Dos workouts with interest. How do you like the BSS/step-ups and chin-ups/pull-ups? I so wish we could work out together. I'd especially want to join you in learning to swim. My thing wasn't fear it was near-sightedness. Every time someone splashed me in the face, and I couldn't see, I got out. And since my eyesight got worse as I got older, I never learned to swim.

Thanks! It would be great to workout together! Wish you were closer or vice versa!

Well, with Coach Dos' workouts, you choose your exercises from a menu so I've been switching them up every 3 weeks. This was the first day of the SU/BSS and it hurt!! I hate BSS's, but figured I had to get them in there sometime, so I put them with the SU's! It's a pretty cool program because you just follow a template and plug in your exercises. It's pretty fun, actually.

More than anything, I wish I had a swimming partner. I'm nervous to go by myself!!
