Hey Jane!
Lookin good in here, glad to see your reflections of this journey.
I thought of you while I was on vacation. My sister and I were on a shore excursion and before we went out onthe jetboat ride, there was a tiny little dog on the dock that belonged to the owners of the business... it looked just like Sophie! I think it was the same type of dog... only about 1.5-2lbs, about 3 months old. Absolutely adorable and I thought of you the second i saw it. Just thought I'd let you know!
Okay, I have to admit it, I cried. I am beyond happy for you. This is exactly what the results of each of our hard work should lead to. I really wish I could put in to words how incredibly happy it makes me to read that this is where you are in your life.
Kudos to you for all the hard work you've put in and your ability to be pleased and satisfied with what you've done.
mel
Thanks, Mel!!

I hope so, Jesca!

Awwwww! I really had a "Sophie" day today. Really missing her. I'll bet that little dog was a doll!!
I was thinking of you today, too...wondering when you'd be back. Good to see you!
Jane your reflections are exactly mine from the last 6 months. Isn't it empowering to know what we know now about our bodies and diet and exercise? That alone makes all the work worth it. Congratulations for finding this place in your life.

Good workout. The wrist is still holding me back a bit, but slowly but surely I'm building back up.
I am officially in the 130's on the scale! First time since I can't even remember. It's so weird thinking I was carrying 22 more pounds at the first of the year. I can't even imagine!!
I think i remember you mentioning this a while back, but isn't it amazing how much weight we carry around with us without even realizing it? When I started this, I thought I had about 10 pounds to lose and any more than that would really be unhealthy. Here I am 11 pounds lighter and am still carrying far more excess fat than is healthy IMO.
It's crazy just how much we underestimate both the fat we carry as well as (at least for a while) our ability to get rid of it.

Jane, I had to chime in, I've been catching up on your log (while sitting outside in the hot sun at my YARD SALE), thinking "Why am I doing this?!" The good news though is that it's been several years since we had one or took stuff to Good Will, so I suppose it was a little more worth it than usual. I posted on freecycle that Sunday everything is free, so hopefully I won't have much to box up and get rid of. We got our kids involved too so they're all making a commission. :-)
Also, I'm with you about carrying so much weight and not realizing it. I've lost 20 lbs since January also and it seems so weird that I can look like this (meaning rolls on belly and jiggly thighs...) but have already lost so much. Scary, what did I look like before? Anyway, congratulations on your weight loss and muscle gain...keep it up!

Woo hoo! Nice accomplishment.

Month 6 Stats (January 1 and today) FINAL CHALLENGE PICS
Weight: 5'8" From 160.5 to 139 -21.5 lbs
Chest: From 40 to 37 -3.0"
Below Chest: From 32 to 29 -3.0"
Stomach below belly button: 39.5 to 34.5 -5.0"
Waist at narrowest: From 32.5 to 27.0 -5.5"
Hips: From 41 to 37.25 -3.75"
Thigh: From 24.25 to 21.75 -2.5"
You know, I got to thinking today about the past 6 months as I contemplated the final pics this weekend.
I feel so happy and so good about everything I have accomplished. I've already met or surpassed many of my goals have have begun developing new goals for the future. It feels great. I feel like I could do anything I set my mind to.
I love that when I get out of the shower in the morning smack dab in front of a HUGE mirror that I don't grimace anymore. I actually like what I see for the most part. I feel happier, I feel stronger, I feel sexier, I feel more confident. I feel ready to meet someone and share with. That's a HUGE step for me.
I like that my clothes look GOOD on me and are now smaller (other than the dent to my wallet ). I like that I am eating healthier and am not as tempted to eat badly. How enlightening to realize how simple (still hard!) it really is to get in shape. No magic hocus pocus behind it at all. Hard work and an on target diet. Bingo!
The good days (physically and mentally) now far outweigh the bad and that is a very good thing.
It's very rewarding to set a goal, a difficult goal, and reach it. Makes me want to reach out and help others, know what I mean??
That's all.....just a bit reflective today (and mildly bored at work).

Thanks, Julie! I owe a lot to you for starting the challenge and keeping me focused!
I took today off and didn't track at all. I went to a Farmer's market and got some wonderful fruit and ate some of it. I also ate a big serving of Key Lime w/graham cracker gelato (YUM!). Scallops (see recipe posted in recipe section (YUM again!) and corn on cob (from the market) for dinner. Was a great day of rest, majorr refeeding, and reflection and a great way to end the challenge. Tomorrow....back to the plan!
I was thinking about you today Jane - yesterday and today when we biked, we parked at the doggy beach... I'd never seen it before, but now I can certainly see how easy it'd be for someone with an aggressive dog to wreak havoc... Just made me a little sad, thinking of you and Sophie... Glad you had a nice day off and enjoyed the beautiful weather.
Jane, your progress is amazing. I wish I had the nerve to take a "before" picture of myself way back when. It is such a motivation to see who far you've come. Thank you for hosting the next women's challenge. It's going to be a great help to many of us.
I said it before Jane....and I'll say it again....damn girl! You look smoking HOT!!!

Well done Jane, as caretaker of the Challenge you're certainly giving the others something work for.
Thanks, Tom.....I had some pretty big shoes to fill and I thank Julie a million times over for starting the challenge and making us be accountable with monthly pics and stats. It worked for me, which is why I am so excited to start up another challenge and keep the momentum going for me (and for others).

Thanks a million, guys.....I'm all warm and fuzzy this morning!
And........a bit puffy, too! Maybe that refeed wasn't such a good idea yesterday (but, it sure was fun)! Back to being focused and on track today. I think I'll even cut the calories back a bit more than normal to take care of any damage from yesterday. No biggie.

If it makes you feel any better, I am in the same position today. Decided to have yesterday off and I am quite bloated and yucky. I didn't even go over my calories, but it was what I ate. Anyways, also cutting back today.

Wow! I'm new, and have been looking through the progress pictures, and reading through the women's logs. You are an inspiration to me! We are the same height, although my starting weight is 172. You sure look great in a bikini! Your hard work and determination have paid off.
Jane your pictures look so wonderful! I am so happy for you that all this work is making you feel so great about yourself. I totally know what you mean about stepping out of the shower in front of a mirror. I used to have to travel for work and a lot the hotel bathrooms were set up like that and what a horrid morning surprise. I'm glad you are liking what you see!
