AWESOME!! All this talk about bodpods I may have to see if I can find one locally!!! How did you go about finding one??
Tracey, I just did a google search for "bodpod" and the closest major city to me and found one at the local university. I guess a lot of the universities have them.
I FINALLY got through to the university and got my BodPod appointment. It's May 23. I'll now be able to TRULY know BF% once and for all!
Cool, Jane!
That is the same day that I go to get my BF rechecked here and am doing the RMR and VO2 testing, with Ms. LoriAnne! Are you doing yours in the morning? We are going at 7:00 in the morning!

I'm jealous. There are two local universities that have one, but in research labs (no public tests). My tax dollars at work, right? You would think in a country that has socialized medicine they would be available to the public. Of course that gets me started on the whole 'free doctors' but 'pay for the nutritionist' rant. I finally screwed up enough nerve to consider a long drive (2 hours+) to the only one I could find that did public tests. Their website is, well, gone. That's never a good sign. Although I managed to scare up the phone number so I will try them tomorrow.

This is good to know. Just let us know how it goes, even if you don't post the results I'm interested in doing this since I haven't lost any weight, but I know my body comp is changing. I would have to just guess at what I was before, I but I know it's different. I'm just curious to see!
Holy Cow Miss Jane! That is amazing...I just don't have that extreme willpower--once per week is great for me
BTW, I have the same bruises you do! Awww, how sweet...
My hubby asked me what happened to my legs and I looked down and saw two circular bruises on each upper thigh. I said, "hmmm, just like Miss Jane..." (Needless to say he thought I was wacky) Anyway I figure they're from lunges or maybe stepups.
I am curious as to how the BodPod numbers compare to the Ormon reading. You have to go to a gym and get a trainer to use an Ormon on you too just for the compare.
Quick drive-by post to let you know there's a decent article on probiotics (and prebiotics) in this month's edition of "Today's Dietitian" magazine if you happen to have access to it. I thought of you when I read it.

Oh, I've got the Omron so I will know exactly what the difference is. I'll do it right before I leave so it will be as close to the exact time as possible.
My belief has always been that the Omron is extremely inaccurate. Now, I will know for sure, since the BodPod is supposed to be the most accurate (same as being dunked, supposedly).

Thanks, Diane! I'm a huge proponent of probiotics so I will definitely try to hunt down this article!
(I swear I posted this once already, but it's not here....hmmm)
Tomorrow it's time to head into the home stretch. I'll be starting WSFL tomorrow. I've taken almost a week of rest (much needed because of my wrist) Diet was still on, so all is good.
So, just to shake things up a bit, I thought I'd give WSFL a whirl to get rid of those last few stubborn pounds of fat. Weee!
Oh yeah! Totally looking forward to how this plan works for you since I know you will be very compliant and you are an ideal canidate for it. WRT the bod pod results, you don't have to post results but if you could tell us the delta from the Ormon that would be very helpful at least to me.

Karla, I'll be sure to post the differences between the bodpod and the omron, at the very least. I am very curious.
Today, just for kicks, I took my omron measurement using the 'normal' mode and the 'athlete' mode. Quite a difference! I've been using 'athlete' mode, and it's much less than 'normal'. Also, I read somewhere that 'extra' percentage points are built into the omron based on age, so that would seem to mess it up, too, I would think. I'm thinking it will be worth it to stop in and have the bodpod done every 3 months.
At any rate, I'll be sure to post all the results!
First day of WSFL and it's a nice change of pace getting carbs today. Eats seem quite doable today and my first workout will be tonight.
Jane,
I am doing the 3 month check-ups with the Bod Pod. This time it has been since Feb, so it has been 15 weeks. But my plan from here on out, is 3 months and with us going the same day, that will be too cool!!

Tom, it's still pretty low carbs (at least for me). Today, basically just fruits and vegetables. Then, throughout the week, I will be cycling to lower carbs and no carbs. Since I was doing some carbs with TNT -- kinda sorta Plan B, I don't thing I'll have too much problem with any weight gain. Sure hope not!
The biggest thing here, for me, will be less fat and less calories.
