I'm sorry you're down Jane :-( We all have adys like that. But good for you for sticking to the diet! I'm sure once the puppy comes it will put a great big smile on that lovely face of yours! :-D
I don't know Jane... I was sad at first when my ex took off (about 5 years ago) but then I started to weigh the benefits of being single over the benefits of being with someone. For me single wins hands down every time I put it to paper. More money, more space, more free time and more freedom, etc. So I make sure that I stay single. I spent my whole life looking after other people so it is refreshing to only have to look out for me.
Once you have a puppy to cuddle you will be plenty fullfilled with love.
{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}}} for Jane. I am really sorry that you are sad today, and am really proud of you for not cheating on yourself with the burger and ice cream.

You will have someone to share the good times with. I can oonly imagine the drastic changes of being with someone for so long (ratbastard that he is and I am allowed to say that, because I care about you) and then for that all to change. The weather is clearing up and you will be meeting people and me thinks you will be fighting men off with a stick. I am picturing you and Gracie going for a walk and bam!
You will indeed find someone who truly values the strong, beautiful woman that you are. Hang in there.

i hope you feel better and I'm excited to see the puppy. It will totally keep you busy and keep your mind off of it! You better post some pics It is your log after all

Like Ginger said, you are going to be fighting off the men and then you can weed out the crappy ones and find a good one. Also, having had pets all my life, I know Sophie is going to make you feel so much better. It sounds goofy, but the unconditional love you get from a pet can be really comforting.

You should be very proud of yourself for resisting the lure of Ben & Jerry! And Ms. Sophie is guaranteed to bring you joy! And, to steal shamelessly from Ginger....

Thanks everyone. I think I just need to muddle through these feelings as best I can. I am hoping a kick-ass workout will help tonight. My stomach is just in knots.
I'm sorry you had such a rough day due to your ex.... but you did survive the desire to soothe those feelings with food that isn't very good for you!

What?! Ben and Jerry's isn't clean eating? Dammit all. That's just wrong on those kinda days, but a nanner shake was a better choice. Good for you for getting through it. Sometimes, when it comes to men both in particular and in general, you just have to get in touch with your inner ornery bitch and live in that mode for awhile. Find that bitch Jane The sads will pass and you will have that new puppy to transition you to utter frustration, joy and puppy-breath-kisses
I 'm sorry you have been feeling lonely! Hopefully the puppy makes you a bit more cheerful again. I bet she is gorgous. Little puppies are always so sweet!
The wrist injury quite sucks, but you seem to manage to get your workouts in with some modifications. Way to go!
Miss Jane!
Congrats on having little Sophie home. She is absolutely adorable and I’ll bet she thrilled to have you!

If you don’t mind, I have some questions about TNT. I’ll admit it, your progress pictures prompted me to get the book back out and reconsider the diet, again.
*What do you snack on? I know it gives examples in the book and I love pepperoni as much as the next person, but the skeptic in me wonders how in the world I could possible lose weight while eating pepperoni (although, I did pack a baggie with 14 pieces in it). Same with cheese, I love cheese. Do you do low-fat? Do you eat cheese everyday?
*Do you track your calories? I thought I remembered that you don’t. Can you give me a typical day for you, eating wise?
*Did you feel tired at the beginning of this? I am a little worried about it, but just want to know I’ll still be able to go at it pretty hard in the gym.
I think that’s it. I hope you don’t mind if I pick your brain a bit. I’m ready to try something new diet-wise and really want to spark this belly fat.
Thanks for your help!

So far, TNT has been great for me in the belly fat area. The scale has moved, too.
A typical day for me:
- Breakfast - scrambled eggs with onions, peppers, cheese
- 25 almonds and string cheese (not low fat)
- Lunch - chicken, broccoli, cherry tomatoes
- protein shake (I use Nitrean -- no fat and no carbs) blended with ice cubes
(workout)
- protein shake again
- Dinner - Tilapia, salad w/cheese veggies, broccoli
- snack if I want - deviled egg or string cheese or a slim jim, or some veggies with ranch dip
I did not experience the tiredness that some feel. It's hard to remember back to January, but now that it's been 3-1/2 months, it's just normal to me. I eat a lot of meat and eggs and cheese. I don't count calories or track, but since the weight is now coming off slower, I may start watching my portions (I can eat!).
I've been on Plan A the whole time, with a few days of Plan B (bananas in my shakes). And, I've had one carb-load day a month, usually centered around special occasions. I'll probably switch to Plan B or C when I have less than 10 lbs of FAT to lose. So far, my loss as been all fat (I think). But, at any rate, I do feel my lean mass has been maintained or even increased. Once I am done losing the fat, then I'll really focus on lean/muscle gain.
Very helpful, thank you! Sorry about the funky post, I was trying to copy and paste.
I made up my lunches for the week and I will be eating tilapia with either broccoli or brussels. So I think I did good, so far. I picked up what I thought I needed from the store with this plan in mind, so I didn't pick up any of my favorite (oatmeal, Kashi) carb-laden foods.
I thought you had been doing plan A, all along. I was raving to Lori (she hasn't seen your pictures, yet) on the phone yesterday about your progress and telling her about TNT, so she may be around with a question or two. I think she's going to get the book today.
I have a feeling I am going to feel fuller for longer, which is good.
Thanks for the help! I may be around with more questions.

Very adorable. I remember trying to take pictures of the kittens when they were young. It was almost impossible the first few days. Even after that it wasn't easy. They have so much energy at that age. She's very cute (and I'm really a cat person).
