Stage 3 Workout A is FREAKING hard!!! (It bears repeating)
AGREED! This workout is insane, but you did amazing! I know what you mean on the DB bench press, sometimes you just can't push out the last one. Its like you want your arms to go up but they just won't move! I too have yet to complete two rounds of the body matrix, but I'm hoping I can do it today. No treadmill intervals today, I'm going to focus only on the matrix!
Also, I definitely agree with Tom about the avatar showing progress. You look fantastic =D
Amazing progress, Jane. I'm adding you to my hero list, for sure!
Thanks! I don't believe I've ever been anyone's here before -- at least not in the fitness arena!

Two intervals of that matrix MIGHT happen in Stage 5! Thanks for the kind words!

Again, thanks, but I seriously don't see it! I just changed my avi since I don't have red hair and it looked like I did in the other one!

Nice workout....not a fan of workout B, but worked it out. Only two more workouts and then on to Stage 4!
Dinner tonight is Broiled Tilapia Parmesan, steamed broccoli and cherry tomatoes and I can't wait!
AND, the best part is that this is my FIRST FREE WEEKEND in OVER A MONTH! Between work, school and a weekend of the stomach virus, I have not had any time to myself. So happy!!
I was aware of it before and therefore when reading the exercise descriptions I was uncertain what was my dominant leg. I am definitely "right-legged" in the way I am right-handed, because I lead with my right leg and if I was a footballer (ha ha) I would be right-footed. However with these one legged exercises my more stable leg is always the left. It does make a big difference too - something can be quite hard on one side and much easier on the other - I usually do the harder side first to get it out of the way.
"footballer" - should say "soccer player" on here I think?
I know this is a bit late but my trainer tested me for leg dominance by standing behind me and telling me to relax. Then he pushed me forward. I had to put a leg out to keep from falling. The leg I put out was my dominate one. It was my left leg and I am right handed. Interesting...
I seem to have sprained/strained(?) my right wrist. I can't really pinpoint how I did it, but I am thinking it was those darn YWTL's. I'm going to do RICE on it and skip my workout tomorrow. I'll see how it feels on Monday, but it may need some time. It really hurts to flex my wrist backwards, forward, and twisting back and forth, too. I've got it in a wrist brace right now keeping it compressed. I think I'll ice it off and on tonight. DAMN!!!!!
Nutrition still right on target. It's crazy that I am running out of pants to wear. I have more clothes than any normal person should have, but I am having a hard time finding something to wear to work each morning. I am going to have to have some major altering done on my really good ones and I am going to have to shop soon. I wanted to wait until I was at my goal, but I am afraid I will not be able to wait.
This is funny, and not funny.
I've had where I had pant way too big, but I wasn't ready to shop for new clothes. I must have looked like a real dork during that period.
Sorry to hear about the wrist Jane. I'm sure it won't be too much. Maybe nothing more than a tweaked nerve.
Well, I am happy to report that as much pain as my wrist was in Friday and Sataurday, it's probably 75% better today. I have much less pain when bending it up and down, but it's still a bit painful to twist it. As much as I was looking forward to an Easter morning workout, I think I'd better skip it. I doubt that trying O/H DB snatches would be a good way to test out the wrist before it's 100%.
Oh, and I did finally shop for some new clothes. Let's face it, I'm a clothes whore and I just couldn't hold out any longer. New size 8's are always going to put a on my face! I didn't get much....just a couple things. With half a foot of snow on the ground, it was really hard to get into the spirit of Spring. And, I can't stand to look at any more winter clothes, so I'll give it a few more weeks before I go whole hog.
I don't want to skip my last A workout of Stage 3 tomorrow because of my wrist. It feels better, but not 100%. Do you think I could wrap my wrist and modify the workout a bit? Like this:
One Armed DB Snatch - not sure about these...may have to skip or drop weight on the right hand.
DB Single Leg RDL - these should be ok
Barbell Bent Over Row - these may be ok -- not sure
DB Single-Arm O/H Squat - may have to drop the o/h weight on the right side
DB Incline Bench Press - not sure about these but think it may be ok if I stay at the same weight
Plank - these will be fine
Reverse Wood Chop - these are out -- can't expose the wrist to any twisting yet
UGH! Today, the wrist is bothering me more than yesterday, so I think I probably need to get an xray. The ulna is definitely bigger on my right than my left and more painful today. DAMN! I really want to hit the gym tonight, but I really think I will have to totally leave my right wrist out of it (glad I am left-handed).
She is half-maltese, half-poodle (her mom is a miniature poodle and here dad is a tiny maltese!). She will mature to about 4 lbs. I can't wait to have a companion in my home!
