Congratulations on the speedy recovery. Doesn't look like your your stride broke at all. I see a lot of positives (negatives?) on your girth measurements.

I think I may have had to backtrack a bit, but not too much. I think recovery is easier when you are knocked down from a healthier base, so I'm thankful for that.

Thanks, Diane! Looks like TNT is working for you, too!
We are starting a Wellness Program here at work this year, and tomorrow are out health screenings....just basic stuff. I am glad they are doing SOMETHING, but I still don't think they are doing as much as they can. Basically, all we've done so far is fill out a confidential questionnaire and then the screening tomorrow (weight, BMI, BF, blood pressure, cholesterol, etc). Anyone who does the questionnaire and screening will be put into a drawing. First prize is $50,000.
My take on this is that everyone is going to do the steps necessary to get into the drawing. BUT, there is no incentive being given to get healthier.....there is only incentive to get into the drawing. You watch.....someone will win the 50K who smokes, has high blood pressure, and is obese. I don't know how I would have done it differently, but I think there should be more accountability to get into this drawing than to just simply fill out a form and show up to give some blood.
Now, of course, if I win the 50K, you won't hear me complaining at all. LOL!
Tonight is workout 3B of Stage 2. I won't be taking a break since I had an inadvertent one while sick.
On a completely different topic, my ex's best friend (and my friend for over 20 years) had a grand mal seizure and was found dead in his home. So sad!!!! My ex just lost his brother to suicide and now this. I really feel terrible for him and for my friend's family.
My condolences for the loss of your friend, something so sudden and tragic is always hard to deal with. My thoughts are with you.
I also wanted to tell you how amazing you are looking! Your update photos really highlight the hard work you have been putting in and you should be extremely proud. I was happy to see that you opted for the skimpier clothing to show off that body!! You have made such progress and it really shows all over. Good for you and keep up the great work!
Jane,
Sorry to hear about the death. That is terrible.
Secondly, you look amazing! I can see a really big difference in your pictures. Great job.
I have been trying to get a similar program started here at work, with some resistance. I hope you win!
Thanks, Ginger! Appreciate the condolences, too.

Thanks, Lorianne! Maybe a pink bikini is in my future, eh? Thanks for the kind words and condolences.

Thanks, Tom, for the condolences and encouragement.
jane, your progress is dramatic, and you look stunning in your bikini. I am way impressed with your results, and you have inspired me to get more strict with the "calories in" part of the equation. I have mastered "calories out". lol

So ps.... I just took another look at your last workout... and it's essentially identical to the one I did today, same weights on pretty much everything! Though I still have a feeling you're pulling more than you think on the lat pulldowns. Maybe you could ask a trainer at your gym how much the plates on that machine are? I did mine at 75lbs today so since our strength seems almost the same I'd guess you're pulling closer to that too.
Have a good night!
Had my health assessment done yesterday at work and was quite pleased:
Total Cholesterol: 160 (should be under 200)
HDL: 59 (should be over 60 -- almost made it!)
LDL: 88 (should be under 100)
Triglycerides: 68 (should be under 150)
Glucose: 76 (should be under 100)
Cardiac Risk Ratio: 2.7 (total / HDL -- should be under 4.0)
Blood Pressure: 126/80 (should be below 120 -- and this is the first time in my life it wasn't so not too worried)
All of my body comps were good, too, and I scored excellent in flexibility.
Compared to my co-workers, I rocked the assessment!
I haven't called in to my doctor yet to compare these results with the same tests taken in Oct. 07, but I know they are better.
Yes, we did compare scores! They were all a bit stunned by their results. And, since they know I have been so focused nutritionally and in working out, they all came to me boo-hooing! Especially, the 'skinny-fat' people. They were so stunned to come out with an 'obese' rating. All they ever focused on was the scale, so they had no clue they were technically 'obese' due to such excess fat in comparison to their lean mass. So, it was hard for me to explain to them that the obese rating was a comparison of their lean mass vs their fat mass. I am hoping this propels them into taking charge of their health. Some pretty scary numbers were being tossed around yesterday -- a real eye-opener!
Wow, you're almost done stage 2! Great work.
Also excellent job on your test. That must have felt really good. It is sometimes really good for the soul to see the evidence of your hard work in clear, numbered results. Sometimes the looser jeans and rings don't always cut it! (oh heck, I think the looser jeans cut it just fine, actually. )
Last night at the gym, I was admiring a woman from behind (purely for aesthetic reasons! -- not that there's anything WRONG with that). Anyway, I was thinking how great she looked -- very in shape and muscular. Then, she turned around and faced me and I would guess she was 60 years old. WOW! She looked so great. I want to be her now and when I am her age. What an inspiration!
