Just catching up.

Wanted to say Happy (late) Birthday to adorable Violet. She is such a cutie both in looks and apparently in personality.

I think I can get on board with this many set, low rep workout you have been doing. I like it! Not sure I could even attempt the weights you are using though.

What program are you following? I too could get on board with the low reps higher weights.

Right now, I am just making it up....at least for the next few weeks. I am cutting, so I am just concentrating on hitting the major lifts 3x a week, not setting out to hit any PR's, just keeping the weight heavy on the bar to maintain strength during the cut. And, after weight days, I am doing HIIT and then some other conditioning/cardio on my off days. Once I am eating at maintenance again, I will start another program.

Thats just impressive anyway you slice it! Deadlifting twice in one week! This is the first week I've done that in months. I usually only do it once per week at most.

Actually when I achieved my best results for deadlifts, I did them 3 times out of 4 workouts (in 8 days).
It just depends on how much intensity you're using. Staying away from failure helps immensely.

For dieting purposes, lifting heavy but with low volume is really a far better approach than higher volume, low weights since it doesn't give enough signals to the body to retain muscle. Plus, for many, higher rep lifting makes them more hungry.

Hi Chad, thanks for stopping by. Actually, I only did conventional deads once this week. I did a few sets of lower weight/higher rep RDL's, but normally, I only do conventional deads one a week. My goal is to hit all the major lifts once a week, but I normally hit squats and bench press twice.

Swinging by to see if you started 5/3/1 yet but see you're doing other things at the moment. Do you plan on starting it after you're eating more?

Happy belated birthday to the gorgeous Violet!! She's growing up fast!! How old is she now?

Hi Diane!! Yes, I really want to do 5-3-1 when I am eating at maintenance or above. Planning on right after Thanksgiving.

Violet turned one year old last week.

So you are finding that you can lift heavy 3x a week and eat at a deficit? Did you cut back your weight at all from where you were before cutting calories?

Oh yeah, I cut back a lot. If you go back thru my log, you will see LOTS of red. Now, nothing! LOL! I am purposely lifting heavy, relatively speaking, but not going for any PR's right now. Just until this little cut is done.

Default Thank You.

Thanks for the info. on the fractional weight plates. Darn. They are more expensive than I had hoped but still ......

Is there something similar for dumbbells?

There are some sort of magnetic platemates, but they don't work on the DB's at my gym. They are expensive.

Yeah they know that if you don't get their product you're stuck getting a lot more pairs of dumbbells so they price them higher.

Default Rob Faigin's Natural Hormonal Enhancement

Jane,
Perhaps you can help...

I ordered Rob Faigin's Natural Hormonal Enhancement by Faigin on Aug 18, paid by Visa, and never got a copy.
from: http://www.hormonalfitness.com/

I've written to their contact:
Contact HF: email us at cs@hormonalfitness.com and haven't gotten a reply.

There is no phone number to contact them about sending me a copy. My Visa was charged... Any suggestions how to reach them?

Thanks,
