Well, try as I might, I could not get Violet to sit still with her birthday hat this morning. She kept batting at it, and just wanted it OFF. I might try again tonight, but it doesn't look promising!

Sometime during the night, Violet got out of bed and rummaged through my open gym bag. She got out every pair of socks/footies (6 pair of them) and they were all over my bedroom floor. She loves footies and panties. She doesn't damage them, she just tosses them into the air over and over again and plays with them. But, she's never had access to SIX pair at one time! What a treasure she found while I was sleeping! I couldn't punish her, since it was after the fact. And, I always toss a bunch of socks into my gym bag because I kept forgetting to pack them, so I figured if I threw in several pair, I'd never be without.

Bree, I am back to eating at a deficit and I'm just doing some metabolic workouts and supersets (ala WSFL) right now along with some increased cardio (HIIT on weight days and LISS on off days). Only planning to eat in a deficit for about 4 weeks. But, I knew that if I kept up with my strength training workouts, I'd just get depressed if I couldn't perform as strongly on a deficit. Hence, higher rep/faster/metabolic workouts for now so I don't have to worry about any PR's. ....until I start eating again.

Happy birthday to Violet. And I'd have such a hard time getting mad at her, too, for getting into a gym bag. She's simply being a playful dog. My cat also likes to rummage through my things, but only really with the bag I use to tote my lunch/snacks around. So I know he's really my cat - he always has food on the brain, like me, LOL.

Hope the work situation eases up for you soon. Mine is about to get crazy the next 2 weeks.

If I don't close it up, my cat takes whole sheets of paper from my portfolio and chews the edges into a lacy pattern.

Ahhh! How dainty of her! Maybe she's an artist and she is creating actual works of art for you!

Oh, forgot to mention in my log this week that I am attending a bodybuilding/figure competition on Saturday. A girl from my gym is competing and we are going to cheer her on. If nothing else, it will be a fun night and great for motivation!

Happy Birthday to Violet

One of my cats has the strangest fascination with our underwear. If it gets chunked on the floor (yes, even as adults our bedroom still looks somewhat teenagerish) she will go nuts rolling around on them and smearing her face on them. Very odd to say the least.

Well, here's my little birthday girl before she ripped the hat off of her head. She gets to go and get some pampering tonight at the groomers! I sure do love this little one!

Jane if you're worried about not performing as well, there's two things to keep in mind:

1) If you keep the volume and relative effort in check, you can still maintain if not actually get stronger*

* Note that "get stronger" is contextual, and you may have to look at that concept differently, but it can happen.

2) If you drop the heavier work in favor of metabolic faggotry, you'll be even more disappointed once you go back to "heavy" stuff. Plus losing muscle while dieting isn't the best approach to take, even if it is a bit slower going. You're lean enough that this will be a real concern.

My preferred method of dieting is actually to mix strength and conditioning workouts to some degree, just not in the same sessions. Unfortunately you're not really gonna find anybody advertising that strategy online, because nobody's really concerned with fat loss while keeping/building muscle and strength, vs. just making fat loss happen.

Dress dogs up in costumes?

The bodybuilding/figure show was really fun last night. The girl from my gym didn't place in her figure class, but she looked good. Lots of competition, though. These girls came in looking really, really good. I was so impressed, especially with the masters class. Picked up lots of free samples at the expo, and I'm always about free samples! The guest poser last night was Victor Martinez. We were in the 7th row, and to see this guy up close was unreal!

Today was going to be a rest day for me, but after being surrounded by so many fit people last night, I feel like going to the gym!!
